Does anyone really think that they are not already aware of that fact?

Another reason is the influx of foreign managers from countries without a tradition of black players such as Spain, Italy, Germany, Argentina, uruguay, scandinavia and eastern europe.
One big influence is actually the high number of Scottish an Irish managers taking jobs in English football. These two countries have had a handful of black players between them and will never provide any black candidates.
Of the black managers that have worked in the EPL, Ruud Gullit (holland)did a decent job at chelsea but was rightfully sacked by newcastle, jean tigana (france) did ok at fulham but there could be no complaints about his departure, Terry connor who took over from boring macarthy at wolves wasn't up to the job and himself admits to being a better coach than manager, Paul Ince (england) should have been given more time at Blackburn but who hasn't that club stitched up? (he'll make it), Chris hughton is doing an excellent job at norwich as he did at birmingham.
Down the leagues their certainly should be more black mangers like Chris powell and i'm sure the numbers will steadily increase.
P.s don't listen to john barnes he was rightfully sacked by celtic as he didn't have a clue.
//flooded with black players// - unbelievable.

I don't think it's the right thing to argue for "more black managers" as a matter of course. But baz, you are mistaken if you think that racial and sexual discrimination aren't still issues in football, and need to be removed from the game. The "flooded with black players" argument shows that there is a long way to go before racism and sexism and homophobia stop rearing their ugly head.
As I said before I want to see the best people for the job get that job, regardless of their background. If it so happens to be a black manager that shouldn't matter, nor should it matter if ti's a white manager. But it should not be the case that people feel discouraged to apply for a job due to racial discrimination. If black people simply don't want to manage that's OK - but some clearly do, and it's worth making sure that they are not being stopped from doing so due to racism.

Baz //got any proof of the discrimination or is it just in your mind?//
As an ex semi-professional I have seen plenty of discrimination within the game but vast improvements have been made due to the efforts of many different parties but most notably by black players themselves.
//please explain why you would be more thankful if there were more black managers//
Because black players have enriched and helped raise the quality and entertainment level of our game, I'm sure they would have the same impact if they were able to break into management as effectively as they have on the pitch.
//should the rest of us be thankful that there's less white managers then?//
No, just happy that there are more black managers. Also don't make assumptions by using terms like 'the rest of us' as amongst the football family it is you that is in the tiny majority and out of date.
In the eighties i remember hearing thousands of people chant 'ooh ooh ooh pull the trigger, ooh ooh shoot that ......' at ruel fox. Those days are long gone and the game has moved on. Whether you do or not is your choice.

Sp,
John Barnes was one of the best players this country has ever produced though unfortunately he couldn't transfer his Liverpool form to the international stage, however, his goal against brazil at the maracana remains the best goal scored by an England player. (check it on YouTube)
You think world in motion is bad then you should hear his 'anfield rap' also on YouTube. :)

Takes time to adjust, doesn't it? I remember Chelsea having a black player as a substitute. Nobody noticed. Then he was called on to play. As he ran on, the man behind me said "There's an (effing) c**n, playing for Chelsea !" Nobody said a word. Nobody would say that now. There are quite a few "c**ns" playing for Chelsea! And, more seriously, anyone saying anything racist about an opposing player would be shouted down, and possibly reported. I think that that man's generation are all dead by now; he was quite an old fan; but it's saddening to see such thinking displayed by anyone younger, or suggested on here.

/// Why do you think that is ? Do they work for less money? Is it political correctness? Positive discrimination? Or are the individuals more talented and better than their white counterparts? ///
You are quite prepared to state that black players are more talented than their white counterparts, but you fail to state why there are not many black managers.
Could it be that white managers are equally more talented than their black counterpoints?

/// flooded with black players - unbelievable and uneducated stupidity. ///
/// The "flooded with black players" argument shows that there is a long way to go before racism and sexism and homophobia stop rearing their ugly head. ///
Flooded with requests, flooded with complaints, flooded with police, flooded with right-wing sympathisers, flooded with Tories, flooded with AOG posts etc, etc.
Why is the word 'FLOODED' quite acceptable in these cases, but when attached to the word 'BLACK' it suddenly takes on accusations of 'uneducated stupidity', 'racism', 'sexism' and 'homophobia'?
Unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable.

"its not enough that we are flooded with black players in our national and premier sides."
You've misinterpreted the verb.
Look at the beginning of the sentence. 'Is it not enough'. Couple that with 'flooded' and it's easy to see why this person is using the verb in a negative sense.
By the way...Asian five a side football is popular, but no where near as popular as cricket.
Why do you think differently?
