Hes been arrested now regarding sexual abuse! What i don't understand is all these celebrities named but none charged?

I would imagine that many accusations have been made against various celebrities. When they are questioned I would think that police are waiting for confessions or refutations. Being in the public eye they must expect to be accountable for their actions - no matter how long ago something occurred. It must be difficult for the police as most celebrities will have acting experience.

I wondered if it was him when they wouldn't name the "popular entertainer age 82" they arrested a couple of weeks ago.

Thank you Em10 - I thought it was todays news item. Its from the arrest 3 Weeks ago and the Sun has now decided to name him it appears.

He was being named a few weeks back on the web at least.

people shouldn't do that, as it can lead to many problems for the person named if there is no evidence to support the claim, we shouldn't have trial by internet. How many have come unstuck because they named someone famous only to discover the person was innocent. If they fancy a court case, being sued for libel fine.

How can they name all these people before they are charged? Even if they are all found not guilty the mud will still stick...

It's unfortunate some of you don't have an Internet connection or you'd have known they were on Rolf's case weeks ago. I'm unsure why police arrest someone they don't have enough evidence to charge. Maybe all these celebs are not willing to voluntarily help the police with their enquiries so have to be obliged ?

Aye I'm unsure folk shold be named until found guilty at the earliest, but it's never going to happen.

Paedophiles do not believe that they have done anything wrong. It's very hard to obtain any kind of co-operation from them.

Never 'Help the Police with enquiries' they cannot be trusted. Better to make them arrest you, then if no evidence at all you can sue them for false arrest.

the newspapers are suggesting high profile names to the police along with tenuous evidence. The police make an arrest - hey presto! the newspapers have a new scandal to sell.

He was first questioned by Police in November 2012. I am not quite sure why the news has taken so long to break.
