The mother and daughter travelled 25 miles from their Paisley home to the Inn at Greenock more likeky to attend a function seeing that they left the Inn at 3.50 on the Thursday and returned in the early hours of the Friday.
Both were found at the hotel with slash wounds (not stab wounds), which both proved fatal to both mother and daughter, the mother was found in their room and the daughter in the hall way.

Sounds pretty grim and sad, whichever way you look at it...
The paper makes a point of mentioning the wounds were slash wounds, rather than stab wounds, as you do in your OP - since you felt it important enough to repeat in your post, what do you think that significes, AoG?

Since the police are not looking for a third party.
Well if it was some pact between the two, one would expect one to directly 'stab' the other, and then for the other to directly 'stab' herself.
For both to obtain 'slash' wounds it would be more in keeping with a fight between the two, each lashing out at each other hence the slashes.
I cannot see it being some form of bizarre 'self harming' matter between the two, that went horribly wrong.

Why do you have to be so insulting? I am in no way being ghoulish I was just entering a strange news story up for discussion.
If you do not want to join in, then that is your choice, but please do not join in just so that you can insult people.

I think there is more to come out of this story.
i think it reasonable to conclude, based on what we are told, that some sort of serious argument took place, escalating into violence, possibly with drink involved.
I think it highly unlikely that any sort of mutual suicide pact took place - past history does not suggest that people who wish to die together do it by this violent means.
