Because he's the nearest thing to a spokesman that Islamist lunatics have got, so he's the go to guy whenever there's an incident of islamist lunacy.
Also, you can always count on him to say something outrageous and stupid, and the media love people like that.

jno like it or not Christianity is on it's way out in the UK. as someone pointed out there are over 2 Million Muslims in Britain, the journalist added, time is on their side. Many British people may have put Christian on the census form, but that doesn't mean they are practising, whereas most Muslims do.
I actually think there are more people who consider themselves to be Christian in this country than we realise. As you say, Em, they just don't go to church, and hence are not counted. We shouldn't discount the much higher birthrate in the Muslim population, hence the swiftly swelling numbers, but if push came to shove - which I hope it never does - I think we would see an enormous rise in the number of people claiming to be Christian.
Two million in 60 million is still a long way from dominance.
There may be fewer christians in Britain, but that probably means there are increased numbers of Atheists and Rationalists (me included)
That could be a very good thing and more significant than the relative numbers of christians and muslims
Atheists and Rationalists are even less likely to tolerate any dictats from Muslims and their silly book of rules and superstitions
The christian churches are too keen to invite them into 'multi faith' events
Perhaps people who share an obsession with fairy stories and silly rules gain comfort from unity
Two million muslims versus an alliance of 60 million cynical Rationalists/a few christians/other odds and sods seems reasonable odds to me

it does mean many people have moved away from Christianity and tacked onto other religions, or become atheist or agnostic, even joined the Jedi Knights, but that doesn't mean to say an organised religion with many followers won't take the lead in years to come. Many people need to be led, and have no concept of how to live their lives unless being told what to do. It is something we are ditching in favour of a more secular life.
It seems to me that he will deserve all he gets!!! The problem is, while the media allow such a vile person to air their discriminatory and hateful views, they will continue to do so and become, if only in their eyes, a martyr to their stupid cause: if, on the other hand, they were not given the air time so to speak to preach their hatred they would become obscure.
Rest in Peace Lee Rigby.

This chappy is NOT representative of Islam, and can NOT back up his inflammatory remarks from the Koran. His "authority" comes from additional texts, like someone quoting "Bel and the Dragon" as having a direct bearing on Christianity. What is needed - and it is very disappointing that we have not seen it - is for these extremist preachers being confronted by mainstream Islamic preachers, in as public a way as possible.
