To all those interested this is yet another newspaper I read, and it is amazing that even Greece seem to have a Mosque problem.

/// The Pakistani, named Muhammed Zafeer says:

/// “Greece has to decide if it will be democratic or if it will go back to the Middle Ages” as he shrugs. ///

/// This quote is ridiculous on so many levels because first, if Greece was operating democratically, the decision to build a mosque would be voted on by Greeks, Greeks would overwhelmingly vote NO. Secondly, Greeks spent a good portion of the Middle Ages defending themselves against genocide by Muslims and after that had to deal with 400 years of Occupation under
them. ///

/// The situation of the Middle Ages has already returned! ///

Well I am glad that you can speak for a whole nation!
well when they start building them right across Greece then you can say told you so.
Greece is broke. Building fourteen mosques with money from outside investors will create many jobs.

The question should be, can Greece afford not to build them?
Greece may be broke, but it still won't need or want these buildings, i honestly can't see why they would need them, seeing as how it's not a Muslim country, doesn't have a large Muslim population, nor will it i expect. That would be Turkey just across the water. They have a large Muslim population, and i am sure have enough mosques to satisfy their followers
what Greece needs is to get out of the Euro for a start, it won't, but it should. Their economy is based on shipping, and tourism, sadly they have had and probably still have a massive public sector workforce dragging the country downwards, wage and pension bills they simply cannot afford.
I wish they would go back to the drachma, sad day when that went. They have done temporarily well out of the EU, but that is all it's been, temporary.
"I really don't really think that you should be telling me what I will and won't think, do you? "

oh the irony....brilliant

Greece doesn't seem to have a very large Muslim population.
...bazwillrun - stop trolling me.

Athens alone has 300,000 muslim residents. I suspect they need more than 14 mosques to accommodate all of them.
there is no definite figure, read the link, nor do the Greek Orthodox church want it. how many of the immigrants who have got into Greece are there illegally, this may not sit well with some, but if they are asking for mosques across Athens, Greece, there will be massive opposition from the Greek people.

@sp

do give over, youre extremely boring
I will reply to anybody that i feel like on here
deal with it
shows you what the Jihadsts think of other religions, dare one say you can't put a church in Saudi, but Muslims want to put Mosques anywhere, seems rather a strange tradeoff

No decent publication would use such expletives in their headings, it is so very much associated with the type of language that is also entered by the 'Left' on Answerbank.

/// I thought it was a bit of a revelation that AOG confessed to be a reader of a site run by Neo-Nazis. I though other regular AB readers might also be interested to know that as well. ///

It is called possessing a open mind, the opposite is called having a blinked view, there are many anti Islamics who have read the Koran as there are also some who detest Hitler, Nazism and all they stood for, but have also read Mein kampf.

You should try widening your reading Gromit, it then might also widen your mind.

Tell me sp are you a Muslim, I ask this because I find it interesting that you as a self confessed homosexual, constantly defend the faith, considering their attitude against gays?

Or any where else in the world it seems, how open minded of you.
that could do with a different thread....

I can read nothing that says anyone else but Athens ie Greece are paying for it, read the headline.

no there isn't, nor the impetus to build, as to some assertions that they need to build them to keep the Greek economy going and Greeks in work is absurd,
Question Author
I would think that the Greeks have enough experience of Islam, so as to hold the views that they do.
