Jenny Agutter and Sally Thomsett were actually young women (ie in their late teens) when they filmed that.
They were warned by the director not to go drinking in any pubs during the making of the movie and afterwards (when the film was released), lest it confused film-goers.

They also had to have their boobs strapped down.

Interesting that the biggest complaint about violence was aimed at 'Reacher' starring Tom Cruise - i would guess the 'mis-casting' complaints were too high to be monitored.
