WARNING: NUDITY AND THINGS IF THAT BOTHERS YOU.

So, in typical style for the up-market rag that it is (giggle), the Daily Mail chose to highlight a "malfunction" of Amanda Palmer's bra during her performance at Glastonbury. You can see it here:

Palmer has given a hilarious response to the Mail, which you can view here:

At risk of stating the blindingly obvious, doesn't this highlight the Mail's hypocrisy? And its shallow and rather self-righteous approach to journalism? Wouldn't we be better off without this putrid rag?

We'd be better off without a lot of media but it's not governed by aloof liberals, it's governed by economics, people buy it, QED.

Obviously such newspapers much upset you and the likes of you that much that you find it necessary to keep attacking them, no one forces you to read them.

But there is much more to this isn't there? Yes it would just suit the likes of you, to remove this and all other free speaking journals from this country, so that your left thinking journals are free to spout your their agenda freely.
Granted we don't want to have a situation where the press are entirely one-sided. But the Daly Mail can be a beacon for the right-wing view without also wasting their time on rubbish like this.
The nudity isn't a problem but you could have mentioned the armpit hair, Kromo!

I don't buy a Newspaper
I read the Mail because my OH buys it, leaves it laying around
It's very Female biased,
I can't understand any real man reading it.

What freedom, exactly? The freedom to preach about pornography on one page, while fixating on Amanda Palmer's boob on another? The people who peddle such hypocrisy are quite simply a morally bankrupt bunch of hypocrites. Their opinions do not deserve respect.

I am not suggesting it should be banned (which seems to be the go-to situation for every problem in this country), I'm just suggesting it deserves its reputation and that its impact on society is a negative one.

Oh god... that was inarticulate. *blush*. Excuse me, I'll try again:

The people who peddle such nonsense are quite simply a morally bankrupt bunch of hypocrites.
AOG, why do you think the Mail published the picture?
Who is Amanda Palmer ?, never heard of her.
Question Author

she's actually quite entertaining tonyav,
Thanks Krom.

Yes Baldric, so I've just noticed lol.
The world is a better happier place for such malfunctions.
Can I put you straight on one aspect of your post. The Daily Mail is not "up-market" in any shape or form. Just because it caters to Tory voters, doesn't make it "up-market"

This was under the TV and showbiz section of the Daily Mail, and if one takes any TV/Celebrity/and showbiz publication this is the type of thing one would expect.

The Daily Mail has numerous sections to cater for all readerships, perhaps they should include a communist section so as to keep everyone happy?

And if you think a glimpse of a female breast is to be classed in any way as pornographic then you must have a very narrow mind, you don't happen to live in the Middle East do you?
If there's nothing wrong or unusual about the glimpse of a female breast, one wonders why the Mail would spend any time devoting attention to it.

'T1ts oot for the lads' sells papers Jim, no matter how they package the "story".
I was at this gig on Friday night. The Daily Mail Song was a melodic little number, as part of the encore. But, for the rest of the evening, Amanda absolutely rocked the f**k out of the Roundhouse.

She was totally awesome.

Fine, but if you are going to report on this kind of thing then frankly you forfeit your right to get on your high horse about nudity in broadcasting or on the internet. Incidentally, that's not something I do, but it is something the Daily Mail frequently does:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2081486/Lara-Pulver-naked-Sherlock-Holmes-BBC-raunchy-pre-watershed-scenes.html

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2295046/Viewers-fury-explicit-Comic-Relief-sketches-aired-hour-watershed.html

So no, I do not consider Amanda Palmer's boob to be pornographic. But the mail is quite willing to get on its high horse over hyped-up non-examples of pre-watershed nudity, but is willing to violate its own standards on its website.
