/// However joyful the news, it means another future king will join his father William and grandfather Charles in the most exclusive boys’ club in the
world. ///

/// We now have three males circling the throne, like planes in a holding pattern over Heathrow. We won’t just have to adjust to our first king after more than half-a-century of being led by our beloved Queen, we’ll have to accept three in a row. We face the prospect of three ageing men becoming our head of state, one after another. ///

/// We shouldn’t underestimate what a huge change this will be for the nation. ///

/// But it will also stem from the realisation that some of our greatest monarchs have been women — from Elizabeth I and Victoria to Elizabeth II today. ///

But please read on chaps and read the whole article it gets even more anti men.

No.
It's not really feminism. It's just one silly woman. Still, in a free press she is entitled to her opinion and to have it published.
I'm not sure I'd call it feminism rearing its ugly head. Just plain silliness. The Queen Mother "affectionate" for example ??!!

Get yourself a proper paper to read for heaven's sake AOG. You're unworthy of this nonsense :-) Mind you, the happy event seems to have induced an early silly season in most of the press.

why do you think women having equal rights as men - as it should have always been - to be 'ugly'?

do you have issues with that?
Definitely Ugly - Amanda Platell = sh1t stirring old ratbag

Nothing whatsoever to do with feminism though.
what a silly woman that person is!
1) who on earth knows what'll happen in the future?
2) why will it be any different under a man than under a woman?
3) how can it be a boys club when she mentions who she considers to be the greatest monarchs (how does she know, anyway?)and they are all women?
4) what a crap "news"paper the mail is, agreed?
No, just the usual Amanda P / DM diatribe.
I wish it had been a girl too, but it just so happens that the last three first borns have been male, so we would have had three kings in a row whether the new ascendancy law had been in place or not.
I can't be bothered with rubbish like that - and that's all I have to say on the subject.
Ludwig, if you look to the sidebar of shame you'll see that Helen Flanagan tried to trump your 3 kings with a pair of aces..... again.

Not quite sure what you are saying as your text doesn't make sense.

But if you are trying to say that I have a problem with women being equal to men, then that is incorrect, but what I do have a problem with, is certain females thinking they are more superior to men, when one gender is no more superior than the other.

I quite like that way of putting it.

Some of us would like to see one of them get on the throne before they're 50... so it's a fair point.

Maybe Charlie will do a handful of years as king and then pass it on sharpish.
AOG, you referred to feminsism as being ugly (or having an ugly head).

Quite clear.
Do you have a similar problem with males who think they are superior to males?

It's just that I've never seen you argue that side of the coin.....

P.S. Andy Hughes, amongst others (myself included) are waiting for you to revisit yesterday's thread to clarify a few details. I'm sure you are anxious to clear up any misunderstandings.
* superior to females......

Well that is a good an attempt at putting an end to a debate as any.

But then I should have known it was unwise to criticise a female, and expect the female members of AB to agree with me.
I am indeed jack, and have posted a reminder on that thread today.

Just wondering why you chose to use the 'Ugly' word in your title aog, all it does is to underline your prejudices!

Just a figure of speech Baldric, nothing more sinister than that, for you to get your sensitive gnashes around.
