The flight restrictions would be nothing new, when we lived on the Rock, flights flew down west of Spain, turned in over the Bay following the demarcation line, dropping quickly and turning in sharply for the landing! Alton Towers charge good money for a ride like that! If they continue with their sabre rattling, the simplest solution would be firstly to fire all the Spaniards who work on Gib and see how their population like that.

Spain have adopted similar tactics before, I seem to recall. I am more interested in the timing of this latest action, and what has prompted it. Is it just one of their periodic attempts to highlight what they regard as an injustice, or are their some negotiations going on somewhere that they believe that can use this created issue as leverage?

It's that time of year - peak holiday season when they can cause the most disruption. A lot of holidaymakers go to Gib for the day when they visit Spain - lots of coach trips etc.

It's the workers that commute to Gibraltar every day that I feel sorry for.
