Andy-hughes, I agree with your comments entirely. I have no feelings either way if some women want to breastfeed in public, but it does offend, embarrass or outrage some people and their feelings should also be taken into account. It is not only about being a mother with the right to breastfeed when and where they want.
I breastfed my four children and never once felt the need to lob my tits out in a public place. I think its private and there is no need to put it on display. Think some people just like to be 'in your face' about breast feeding. The pool staff should not have made a big issue of it, but just had a quiet word with the woman and perhaps suggest it might be more hygienic for the baby if she sat on a seat at the side of the pool.
I wouldn't feed my dog in our local swimming pool let alone a baby.

I've not got time to read through this whole thread, but I would say 'no'.
Get the hell out of the pool and breast feed your chd somewhere more appropriate.
When you feed a baby, they will spit up and drool. This should not be mixed in with the pool water.
Stop it. Stop it now.
I am not bothered by your boobs - but I am bothered by what your rugrat by eject.
