What is our country coming to when an eighty year old man cannot walk down the street, without being attacked by a member of the lower form of our present day youth?

Lets hope this woman, along with those who accompanied her, are soon arrested and made to pay for their crime, also what kind of person would stand videoing such a crime, instead of stopping this savage and brutal attack?

No, Gromit. The translation is - this may go to trial and the jury must not be influenced by anything seen or read on social media.
If you look at the clip it's clear that she's under the influence of either drink or drugs. As is the other chap with the crutch.

/// Ah,well but,AOG you asked "What is this country coming to when an elderly Asian man cannot walk down the street without being attacked...?" ///

Once again you are completely wrong in the fact that I did not say that, but what I did say was,

"What is our country coming to when an eighty year old man cannot walk down the street, without being attacked by a member of the lower form of our present day youth"?

A complete difference you see?

Note the headline "ELDERLY ASIAN MAN ATTACKED" is a complete different kettle of fish.

This is a sub editors licence to create a headline that will get noticed by the maximum number of people, and I think you will agree (but the again perhaps not) that taking into account this section's readership, that is more striking than just "ELDERLY MAN ATTACKED"?

/// That suggests that "elderly, Asian man", was the purpose of your question , you see. Had you meant to speak of a general increase in violence, you needn't have been so specific about race, religion, or age need you? ///

My purpose was the fact that an elderly Asian man was attacked, that is the story, but also an example of what this country is coming two, you see it takes one to lead to another?

But get real will you, "PERSON ATTACKED, WHAT IS THIS COUNTRY COMING TO".

I would then have been asked why did I shy away from calling him elderly, or why had I chose not to say that he was Asian? And if I had failed to enter the story myself there would be others only willing to ask me to explain why i didn't enter a thread on that story, and was it because it was an attack on an Asian by a white person, rather than the other way round? One cannot win either way.

But the why should I be made to explain myself, when no one else does?

/// Translation: This is bad publicity and we were useless. Social media did our job better than us and resulted in this thug being identified. Now we just want to erase any trace of it. ///

I should be careful how you bander those words "warped thinking" about, they could come back and hit you where it hurts, or at the least make you sound rather silly.

whoever she is i hope she is caught soon, and the so and so's who filmed it.
No doubt there is at least one police officer outside her house - her address is all over the internet.
Coral Millerchip, such a ladylike name, too.
AOG,Interesting then that you headed your own Original Post "Elderly Asian Man Attacked" if the purpose of your post was, in fact, nothing to do with him being Asian but was equally served by 'Man Attacked' .

Why would you be asked why you didn't mention he was Asian or elderly? Granted, you show a commendable interest in cases involving ethnic minorities,, and you must identify with anyone elderly, but since your post , as you now explain, was only about someone being attacked, my original comments remain valid, do they not ?
Fred, AOG has already explained the Ed altered the question title.
Did you AOG, say the Ed had altered the title of your post? You referred to a sub-editor, which would mean the headline writer of the Daily Mail, not our Ed, and in neither case would mean that your post had its heading altered, unless our Ed found your first effort in breach of Site Rules, which would not happen, would it ?.
Oh. Now I'm confused
Can we please get away from how the question is worded? It's really boring.

What's more interesting is the question of "what the country is coming to." As I've said before, while the UK has some serious problems, I'm not convinced it's getting worse over time. I also think the case vindicates those of us who champion internet freedom and argue that the internet's impact on the world is overwhelmingly for the better.

When a foul incident like this is recorded, in a matter of hours it enters cyberspace - when a camera phone sees it, we all see it. This has proved invaluable for identifying the attackers and bringing them to justice. I only hope that their punishment is appropriate to the offense.
we can't get away from violent crime, two lads were stabbed yesterday in the capital, not sure how they are, but this isn't a crime that is going away, or getting less.
they are in a critical condition.

Actually emmie, it is. I hate to use the Daily Mail as a source of facts, but as AOG favours it, the cap seemed to fit

i really don't believe that, i do think that many of these crimes do go unreported simply because to do so, if they are gang related, they could end up in prison. They may go to hospital but skip after being treated if the injury isn't too severe. I thing gang crime is a scourge on our society, it's linked seemingly to drugs, and that respect botox,
i was being specific to the capital..
