// The US soldier who murdered 16 Afghan villagers last year has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Staff Sgt Robert Bales, 40, opened fire on men, children and women during the attack in Kandahar on 11 March 2012. //
Seems that if you are a murderous maniac, you are better killing Afghan civilians as your sentence will be lighter.

Electric chair Gromit? Wrong Century I think.
Right verdict I think, and for the record Gromits example(and any others) should be executed too.
Perhaps the difference Gromit is that the death penalty is easier. Life, in a pretty grim prison, without possibility of parole will definitely play on the mind. surprised you Pinko's dont call it torture.
Of course we all know you lot would love him to be out after 8 years to do it again; just like in this country.

17 January 2013
// The US state of Virginia has used the electric chair to put to death a man who killed two fellow prisoners to speed up his own execution. //
// we all know you lot would love him to be out after 8 years to do it again //
Of course I wouldn't. Why do you state obvious lies, is it just to be deliberately offensive or are you unable to make a valid arguement without making stuff up?

how long did it take you to find that quote?
as to the sentence, will it happen, perhaps, but perhaps not.
you seem to want to equate everything to war and what the soldiers do, one man goes on a rampage and kills, another does the same, the military man goes to jail for life, and i suspect that is what will happen to this guy.
But if they do execute him, do you think the families of those he killed will care.

Bales pleaded guilty and contrite or not, showed remorse for his actions. His plea meant that under US Forces rules he would avoid the death penalty.
Hasan, fully aware of the previously mentioned rules chose to represent himself, then further chose not to mount any defence whatsoever, obviously aware of the repercussions of his actions.
