I think because he was such a household name when I was growing up, I loved his programmes and even in later years his Animal Hospital series was a favourite of mine.
I hope that justice can be done without the usual trial by media/internet forum.

Just to clarify the offence of making indecent images of a child, From Wiki...
Causing an indecent photograph of a child to exist on a computer screen is considered to be "making an indecent photograph of a child". A person who either downloads images on to disc or who prints them off is making them.
This suggests to me that the allegation is viewing and saving image/s, not a painting.

I believe that he failed to turn up for court (an open court) where he was tried in his absence and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
He was arrested at his home (normal procedure) and taken back to the court where he was sentenced to 21 days for wilful refusal to pay his council tax.
It had been going on for months and he'd already been to court for the same thing and caused a commotion with the judge having to be moved out of the court for his own safety. That commotion resulted in the court being closed for the rest of the day and six arrests.
He chose not to attend the court for his public hearing. He chose not to pay his council tax. He chose to make a scene at the court earlier.
I don't see any news report of him getting compensation for wrongful arrest and false imprisonment.
