A man was seen walking around the garden of Buckingham palace, police challenged him, it turned out to be Andy. Why have the police apologised? they were doing there job.
Because their bosses are forelock tugging wasters with both eyes on promotion and not a thought for their subordinates who have to put up with this medieaval feudal dross?
What a pompous expensive waste of space he is. To magnanimously accept their apology rather than congratulate them on their diligence. The person could have been a theatrically disguised lookalike terrorist. In the military, guards on duty check the credentials of everyone on entry.
he actually said:
"The police have a difficult job to do, balancing security for the royal family and deterring intruders, and sometimes they get it wrong," said the prince. "I am grateful for their apology and look forward to a safe walk in the garden in the future."
If reports are true and he was ordered to the ground, then it's a good job it wasn't his Dad they came across.
because he had to tell them who he was. they should have known who he was
they are in his house being paid to protect him and the rest of the family and they have no idea who he is - its not even as though he is an unknown figure - his face is known all over the world!
Not a fan of Andrew, although to his credit he did fight for the country in later years things have been rather different with his free loading habits that other veterans have not had the privilege of.
I find it very odd that a policemen, armed, did not have intimate knowledge of the people he was guarding. He is the Queens son for Gawds sake.
In World War 2 little kids could identify British and German aircraft without too much trouble....half a century later it would seem that police officers on Royal Security at Buckingham Palace need to memorise photographs of the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, and other members of the Royal Household before embarking upon the intellectually challenging tour of duty.
I asked for a guarantor once for a lord's son - he gave me his father's name etc. I insisted - he was just as likely to default as any of the other students moving into the grotty flats! Having well off relations doesn't mean a thing! To be honest, I thought it was the name of a pub he was giving me!
