Yes I can remember Arthur Askey and Gilbert Harding. Simon Dee was a D-Jay I think on pirate radio for a while then on Radio 1 until he put his foot in it and was taken off. can't remember why though.
Yes I do frequently

if you look at the advert for schools news
the cameraman is a ringer for Simon Dee - aged 19 or something

I seem to be only one to recollect
Yes.
I remember Simon Dee's tv show that used to be on at tea time on a Saturday it was called Dee Time.
Wasn't Simon Dee a bit full of himself most of the time? The traditional great "I am"
Afraid so !!!
Cliff Michelmore hosted a radio programme on Sunday about 12 o'clock, Family favourites. People serving in the Armed Services overseas would write in asking for records to be played.
I remember all those people and, strangely enough, the Stargazers. :o)

I remember them all. What about Gilbert Harding, Lita Rosa and Peter Brough - can you imagine ventriloquism on the radio!
It was both Jean Metcalf (in Germany) and Cliff Michelmore(England) who hosted Family favourites, it was through the programme they met.
