Its Seems Ok For Muslims....
...to be able to preach hatred outside Mosques in the UK and try to disrupt our soldiers marching through Towns but, when one person makes a comment on FB she could face prosecution.
I know it was a stupid thing to do but surely it works both ways!

To be honest, I am surprised that personal ads for flatshares and the like are allowed to discriminate based upon religious or cultural differences although in a way it is a help because I would not want to share a flat with someone who was advertising for christians only, or muslims only or whathaveyou

doctors have to have rolled up sleeves, even DC was told off for not doing so when he visited a hospital once with some of his staff, it is and has been the rule for a long while on grounds of health and safety, washing hands so no gunk gets on the sleeves which can transmit to the patient. I think that you don't see that i feel we have a rather different idea of fairness, if you tell a woman she can't wear a cross in the workplace for whatever the reason, then its only fair for others to not wear a symbol of their faith either. the teacher who was told off for the outfit she was wearing is a case in point, it was not inappropriate nor unduly immodest, yes someone complained about it, why?
you cannot do that if you own a B&B, Hotel presumably, what if the place is your home.... /
emmie
It's either a public place or a private residence - it can't be both.
that is a legal consequence of turning 'your home' into a commercial 'guest house'
No publican, even if they live 'on the premises' can bar people from the pub on discriminatory grounds
LG
agreed on the headscarf vs veil; my interpretation of burqa is an enveloping garment not necessarily including a veil which i accept isn't always the definition

@Emmie Yes, I take your point - but people are misunderstanding the exemption re the long sleeves, I think. It is my understanding that they are only allowed the exemption so long as they make use of disposable oversleeves, and should get into very hot water if they do not.
This was David Camerons oversight in that incident to which you refer. A grumpy old surgeon gave him and his staff a right verbal tongue lashing.

/how can you advertise a room/property to rent solely on the basis of the persons religion. /
Blimey emmie
are you being 'hard of understanding' today?
you can't advertise a property 'solely on the basis of the persons religion'
But you can advertise for a person to come SHARE a property 'solely on the basis of the persons religion' as some form of interaction between the Sharers is assumed in the shared elements of the property

really, are you sure about that, if you are working in a hospital, surgery how do you not come into contact with patients, that is what hospitals are, full of unwell people, who given the MRSA bug and other unmentionables, can see them off or make their stay a lot longer than it need be. Don;t make rules for one and not the other, make them across the board, so people know where they stand.
@Emmie.

Yes, I am sure about that. There are communal places in hospitals - corridors, offices, canteens, shops, chapels, waiting areas, lobbies and a myriad other places where it is perfectly acceptable for any member of staff to be wearing long sleeves without any risk of transmission of MRSA or somesuch. The point is that those members of staff whose job involves direct contact with patients should be aware of infection control measures when transitioning between these areas or between their jobs.
And there are places where it is not - wards, clinics - anywhere there is direct interaction requiring touching between medical staff and patients.

One thing is good that more and more people are interested in what Islam really is. And after studying more and more are finding real Islam away from the media propaganda and are converting to Islam leaving so called Western civilisation behind. And credit goes to the propaganda that is spread against Islam. Carry on and you are doing exactly whay Allah said in Quran,
"People come up with a plan and I come up with a plan too, and I am the best planner".
