And was the school right to change it's uniform policy so as to fit in with specific religious groups?
/// As a result, Britain’s biggest school have now made a U-turn on their uniform policy, which dictates pupils can only wear one plain pair of metal studs, and say she can now wear the jewellery in class. ///
Does that mean that all pupils will be allowed to wear jewellery in class, or only Muslims?

If the parents were stupid enough to go to the press, and not see the consequences, they can't complain if bigots have the bigotry confirmed. This sort of thing really gets on my nerves - someone doesn't like a rule (which are clearly published) so goes bleating to the papers. Don't like it, go somewhere else. It's not just on religious grounds either - at the start of term there we a while raft of 'articles' complaining that schools were too strict on uniform, schools wouldn't tolerate stupid haircuts or beards on students. Schools need to grow a pair and stand up to all of these parents.
