The Met said: “A man contacted police on October 16 to report an alleged incident which took place in 1981.

Are you saying that because it was 32 years ago , it did not happen ?.

I'm no expert on this , however i think you'll find that it is accepted that most abusee's ( if there is such a word ) refrain from reporting abuse for one reason or another - one reason being that because of the profile of the abuser ; they just do not think that they will be beleived .

In the case of Jimmy Saville , it is clear that this was the case for many people .
He was even able to run rings round the police and many others , when confronted with these allegations

No, I did not suggest that it did not happen.

I was questioning why he took 32 years. My feeling would be that it seems the ripe time to make a claim as so many celebrities are under suspicion.

Then of course I could be completely wrong and the female who became a soap star took advantage of him twice - three years apart. I still think he should have said something earlier if . . . .
Who do you think it is then? Are we allowed to guess?

You trying to get this thread removed Just-Jude?
I have a great suspicion who this is.

I am a similar age and remember a very predatory female actress in a club I used to frequent when I was young.

Considering this was pre-EastEnders, we are talking about a Northern Soap.

I fear this might go the way of stories about female teachers seducing 16 year old boys and will not take it seriously.
It couldn't have been the lady who played Annie Walker, could it? I always thought her the epitome of respectability.
I've looked at the photo of the back of her head and am pretty sure it's not Ena Sharples, because she had a hairnet. I wouldn't like to say anything more definite.
those three old ladies that frequented the snug all looked a bit shifty to me sandy
You're not impugning the virtue of Minnie Caldwell? Still, who knows what they might get up to after a few milk stouts.
I think the silhouette of a random woman's head was definitely worth putting in the article.
no point in random guessing who iy could be....we dont want a lynch mob !
Is he complaining or boasting ? I was never that lucky at 16.
JNO - maybe that's why Violet Carson (Ena Sharples) wore a hairnet - the fear of leaving DNA behind via a stray hair. makes ya thunk huh? :-)
Just because this happens to be a female that has been reported, why all the nudge, nudge humour?

All those male celebrities were identified why should it be any different because it is a female?
One of my favourite Corrie stars was Lynne Perrie
That is exactly why so many boys and men don't report sexual assault and abuse committed by a woman - it doesn't get taken seriously.

It was worse 30 odd years ago.
hc, exactly. I would have thought most would have grown up by now and not seen it as a humorous situation when it happens to a young male.
There are direct references and allusions to a certain former soap actress in this thread. It is not her because she is dead and the woman in the report is alive.
Last time @ 19y (age of consent)....he's having a lafff
