On a broader note, it's not just Christians, but all the major religions can't seem to let it go?

Why?

Oh good grief, AOG, not all Muslim men have beards just as not all Muslim women wear hijabs, niqabs or burkas.

Tough one that, how do you identify them?
The praying 5 times a day

And I never said they did, I just said "One give away".
I have a Muslim friend with no beard. She says she has no plans to change this.

Yes they are marvellous those modern Lady's shaving aids, much better than Veet.
They have telt me they are Muslims but how do you do it?
of course behind her niqab, it is possible that it is not my friend at all but Mullah Omar still on the run.
Ignoring the slightly stupid direction this thread seems to have taken for a moment...

Christians, in my view, should be able to say what they want about us homosexuals, and I should be able to say what I want about Christians. At this stage in the argument, it is pretty clear how ridiculously inferior and intellectually bankrupt the religious opposition to homosexuality is. It is plain to anyone with an ounce of intelligence who is right and who is wrong.

That, I suspect, is the answer to your question, SP. The reason that religious conservatives are so up in arms right now is because they are losing so catastrophically

Kromovaracun, there's slightly more to this in the US, where refusal to tip is a serious social affront; it's like a private withholding of pay, not just an criticism. They're certainly allowed to do it, but they run the risk (which of course they might welcome) of it being widely publicised.
anybody else loving "imputinity"?
In some ways it seems to. We've talked on other threads about gay people not being allowed to marry in church. The law says yes, the Christians say no. And win.
Imputinity! Yes! Will be using that:-)
Imputinity? What a erronemitous spelling!
And the fact that there has even been debates recently about female bishops shows that religion can ignore any law it doesn't like, with imputinity.

AOG

You're absolutely correct and I withdraw my comment about the customers being white. Christian bigots come in all shades, as we know from the evil spouted in a number of African countries, which use the Bible as justification for the persecution of gay people.

But getting back to my original question, why do religious fundamentalists think it's their right to act like this?

In terms of what is really important in the world, shouldn't sexual attraction be rather lower down on their 'to do list'?

You know...as I wrote the word 'Imputinity', I could see something wasn't quite right...this is the effect of 20 years relying on my spellchecker at work.

I understand your point, but look at the language they used:

“Thank you for your service, it was excellent. That being said, we cannot in good conscience tip you, for your homosexual lifestyle is an affront to GOD. Queers do not share in the wealth of GOD, and you will not share in ours. We hope you will see the tip your f*g choices made you lose out on, and plan accordingly. It is never too late for GOD’S love, but none shall be spared for f*gs. May GOD have mercy on you.”

The word f*g in this context is highly offensive. There was no need for it.

To me, the language speaks of hatred, and was simply unnecessary.

They could have easily written, "Thank you for the great service, however we have strongly held religious beliefs that prevent us from tipping you as we strongly disagree with your lifestyle and do not wish to fund it".

But you know what? It just show what dumb asses they are...by eating at the restaurant and contributing to its profits, they are directly supporting his further employment anyway!
imputinity is the upgraded version of impunity, currently only available in Mocow
