I live in the town centre and across from a Chinese takeaway.

Some years back I heard a commotion and looked out of the window. There was a very irate Chinese guy running along the road with a meat cleaver in his hand and two young thugs running for their life. The old guy had no chance of catching the young thugs - just as well.
Well done this 'Super Gran' let's hope she won't be later charged with using an offensive weapon.

Yes he would have certainly been for the chop.
Noticed the cigarettes are on show, thought they had to be hidden away. Hope she's not prosecuted for that. She's a very brave woman for standing up to the two armed thugs. Good for her!

Reasonable threat of force in protection of yourself or your property, put at its lowest. It's a small shop, and is not yet required to hide cigarettes behind a screen.
marj it is only large retailers such as supermarkets that have to hide the fags. Small shops can still have them on display though this is due to change.
I see, thanks for that, I thought it was every shop.
I'm sure Plod are round there now with a warrant searching her gaff for some misdemeanor. Of course if it had been the good old 70/80's they could have planted a stash somewhere and 'found it'.
