If this is not demeaning towards white women as well as being blatantly racist I do not know what is.

Never a truer word said......"All that remains to be said is the fact that some of you hold very strange standards".........
Charlie...that doesn't offend me either. If a woman wants to get her boobs out for money, fair play to her.
I still didn't get my earmuffs, so have put a hat on.
What did you say Maya????? ;-)
LOL
exactly ummmm if she wants to be stark bollocked naked for money then its up to her!!

Mama - what ear muffs are you looking for?
//Rather off topic and with a howling gale blowing outside - if we ladies adopted the new scarf wearing look, do we get a set of earmuffs thrown in free? //

Sorry. :-)
No mamya but depending on the position, the man might
Depending on the position sought you coin fend up with something to chew on!!
/I have opinions of my own gathered from many years of what I see going off all around me,

whereas others find it beneficial to bury their heads in the sand, if it opposes their rather narrow political views./

Are we convinced aog has that the correct way round?

His repeated attempts here to convince women ABers that he knows better than they do what they should be offended by suggests otherwise
AOG, by 'others who bury their heads in the sand and have narrow politiical views, are we to take it that that applies to those who have not supported you in this thread?

That must include the women on here, must it not ?

You have your opinions based on long observation of what happens around you. You have not understood what this artist was trying to achieve, nor how and why women on here don't feel offended or demeaned by it. Could it be that your observations led to false conclusions ?

By the way, was your society showing respect for most women, when women had not achieved equality, were paid less, had to have their husband approve a bank account and all the rest ?
You're wasting your time guys.
Bizarre thread...the women on AB have unanimously said that the images don't offend them.

I would've thought that this would be cause for celebration, seeing as how some on AB constantly berate those who find offence in matters of racism, sexism or homophobia.

We are now 'through the looking glass'.

"Women of AB be offended...or at the very least, let us be offended on your behalf."
Speaking as a lady (which is patronising enough in itself) I feel further patronised by you thinking that I am too cowed by PC to have an opinion or that I need to be told when I should be offended - sorry AOG but throughout this thread you have patronised and therefore offended me.

Frankly, as a woman, the Daily Mail offends me far more - for example describing an 8 year old girl as a "leggy beauty" whereas these were grown women choosing to take part in these photos.

The pictures are neither offensive nor racist - also not sure why you said "some black men" in the title of the question as it is the opinion of one publicity seeking artist.
AOG, you don't see anything patronising or disagreeable in the word 'lady' used as you used it, do you ? This is something, obvious to a younger generation (not just them; I winced mentally when I saw it), which you are unconscious of.
Brilliant post OILhead.

Winced mentally when you saw the word 'lady' ???????? oh dear things are much worse than I thought, and here was you criticising me for being too sensitive regarding certain matters.

But if you had checked Andy-Hughes was first to used that now non PC word.

Another interesting statistic for you to ponder over is the fact that only 6 out of the replies to my question were from women ABers who disagreed with me, the rest came from males apart from a couple of females who held no particular view.

I still think Lady ABers sounds much better, but who am I to offend anyone?
AOG, did andy-hughes use lady/ladies before you did, use it first? Apparently not, but you will correct me if I am wrong. Here :

AOG at 13.13 Thusday : "Come on Lady ABers...."

andy hughes, 54 minutes later, at 14.07 and in reply to your points: "..as far as the AB ladies are concerned..."

andy is adopting your term in reply to you, since you spoke of AB Ladies.

I am certainly right in that you don't see anything patronising or disagreeable in the word 'ladies' as you used it. It jarred with me when I saw it so used. One of the women, OIL, pointed out the same thing: "patronising in itself"

Your appeal to " Lady ABers" for support produced 6 against you and two non-committal. That is what their opinion was. The fact that the men were against counted for nothing to you so you asked the women. If you see any comfort in their replies, you should be a politician; they are good at explaining polls away.
If that counts as art then back to the drawing board I fear.
Tony, try the RA Summer Exhibition for what the selection committee thinks, definitively, I suppose, is 'art'. One year I saw a new wall light, fresh from B and Q, which had been wired so that it flashed intermittently. The price ? £5,000.
