But as it's a Panorama investigation I'll reserve judgement for now, in light of their 'slave labour at Amazon' effort that proved to be anything but.

Well ChillDoubt while you're rubbing your hands with glee I do hope you only invest your money in ethical funds!
Yes it's a bit of an own goal but I'm sure we have people giving out yards about it while their own pension pot is invested exactly the same funds or atleast don't know or don't care
What do you call a hypocrit who points out the hypocracy in others I wonder

JTP,
Calm down dear and stop frothing at the mouth. Who's rubbing their hands in glee? I've already said I'll take it with a pinch of salt.
As for 'investing my pension pot funds' I have one with HM Forces and one with the NHS so in all probability my fortune won't be made on the back of an arms company nor with any pharmaceutical company that made Zyklon B.
Wassup, still smarting from the Soldier of Allah thread?
You're certainly not your usual chirpy self this morning!

it is newsworthy
Millions of pounds donated to Comic Relief have been invested in shares in tobacco, alcohol and arms firms, BBC Panorama has learned.
It includes £630,000 in shares in arms firm BAE Systems and more than £300,000 in alcohol manufacturer Diageo.
The BBC has also seen evidence which suggests Save the Children censored criticism of energy firms to avoid upsetting corporate partners.
Both charities deny any wrongdoing.

so you donate to comic relief, they invest the money in the distillery trade, or whatever one calls it, those who make, distribute alcohol, the same charity then gives part of your donation to those outfits that help people with alcoholism,
or invest money in tobacco companies, same applies, so you give money that can be invested in these operations, that can and does harm to people, not sure how else to explain that.
why can't they invest in businesses that don't have these associations.

They have a responsibility to get the highest returns for the charity - unfortunately this appears to be the best return.

Yeah, why not? Go all the way and invest it into Asian sweatshops and the like, get a massive return off the back of child labour.
CU3, does the word 'ethical' not register with you?
