I bet the shopkeepers were not to pleased, with only 10 days to go before Xmas, Muslim or not?

The UK has freedom of speech and the right to peaceful protest, and long may that continue.
I don't have to agree with protesters and I don't have to listen to them but let's not erode those rights any more than they are already.

This really is no different to a group of people protesting about legal 'adult' shops in their neighbourhood.

This is very different and this sort of appeasement does no-one any favours.
I have never heard of owners of "adult shops being threatened with 40 lashes.
Even if this was only implied by Choudhary it is still a long way from people collecting a petition to the council which is what normally happens in this country when people are up in arms over an issue.
You know, attempting change the "civilised" way.

Were the owners threatened with forty lashes? If so, that is an offence (in both senses of the word).

However, if it's a quote from the Koran, then it gets trickier. Again, I have to point to the Christian lay preacher, who was arrested when quoting from the Bible a couple of years back.

He was later released without charge and (I believe) successfully sued the police.

I knew this would come up it always does when the Doctors at Glasgow International Airport are mentioned.

No he was not Muslim as you undoubtedly know, but if you don't her was a white mass (Christian?) murderer and a doctor to boot.

But he has got nothing to do with the fact that Muslim doctors were under discussion, not Dr Shipman or even Doctor Crippin, another white and I presume Christian doctor who was hanged for murdering his wife.

You singled out Muslim Doctors as being a threat, I gave a non-Muslim doctor as a counter-argument and since he is thought to have murdered hundreds, he posed a greater threat than any Muslim Doctor.

That I did not, I was simply referring to a couple of Muslim doctors and this was in answer to an remark made by another ABer who suggested that we should ignore the wrong doings by some Muslims, because where would we be without Muslim doctors.

If you wish to draw white, maybe Christian, or maybe not, mass murdering doctors into the debate, please feel free to submit a thread on it's own, rather than high jacking and trying to make excuses for Muslim misdeeds in a thread dealing with such matters.

They were Muslims who happened to be doctors, do you not think they would have done the exact same thing had they been estate-agents or worked in a factory? Shipman, on the other hand, took full advantage of his position as a doctor.
