But, seemingly, this isn't confined to a particular NHS Trust, it may well be endemic, (no pun intended)..

I think because this is a two strand (at least) story, it was easy at first to see it as 'NHS staff get to play in fat suits'.
Understanding how patients feel is important, not always possible of course - when I first started my Glaucoma treatment, there were many tests I found uncomfortable and made me jump. I would apologise and try to explain how they made me feel.
The young woman stopped me, touched the back of my hand gently and said 'Lynne, I know how it feels, we all have to have it done, so we understand'. That put me much more at ease afterwards.
I know it is impossible in all departments, cannot insist all midwives get pregnant (well not the male ones ) for example, but where a greater understanding is possible, I think it is to the good.
Then there is the safety angle too as said.

Spot on Nibble...- filmic and a waste of time and money.
Yes a charity did provide the money to pay for the suit, but where do you tho.nk that the Charity got the money from? Donations and you think a bloody fat suit is good use of donations.
Peterborough and District were overspent over £39 million this year and expect to ask the Dept of health for another £44 million to stay in business.
So, with donations, they diced a "fat suit" is the answer.
Madness.
