UKiP as a party need to mature to be credible. They seem to be accepting all kinds of loons just to have a candidate, and quite a lot of them are barking mad. And they get the national party lots of negative publicity.
Heaven forbid if a handful of these loons actually fluke their wY into parliament.

The Party's response is that this is not Party policy or belief but they defend his right to express his opinion.
So they don't mind people holding lunatic views, they are still fit to be representatives of the Party. Yes, that does rather miss the point. If they can be so bad in judgment as to think things like this, what are they going to be like as MPs , Councillors, or MEPs ?

It would seem that ABers do not represent popular public feeling.

I find it amazing that people take this sort of thing at face value. The guy was obviously infiltrated into UKIP (probably by the Tory Dirty Tricks Brigade) precisely in order to discredit them. Incredibly a significant number of the electorate fall for it.
Watch out for more of this sort of thing as the next General Election approaches (and if you don't believe me, then check this out http:// uk.news .yahoo. com/tor ies-39- announc e-anti- immigra nt-poli cies-ev ery-wee k-08565 0277.ht ml#5Dot m5D)

The man has a belief, not one I share but I can guarantee many will especially from religious groups including many muslims who do not approve of this sort of thing.
OK, its not right-on so no here people with different beliefs to the right-on brigade are called names and belittled, this happens daily on here. but try opening your mind to the way he, and many others, do see things. It is democracy (although I do understand that this is alien to many on the left)
As for publicity, you may see it as bad but yest again Farage is in the papers. these days he gets more press coverage than Milliband. don't you think that is worrying, whether you are a Tory or a labour supporter.

ymb...I am a Labour supporter and no, I am not a bit worried. Yet again UKIP have found themselves in the papers, for all the wrong reasons. As long as they Members like this chap, they will continue to attract ridicule. As I have mentioned before, Farage is basically a reasonable chap and I feel sorry for him. Controlling his Party must be akin to herding cats.
