Not Guilty. Hurrah!

Let us assume that any one of the victims made complaints to the police at the time for groping. That was one of the charges.
Let's say it got to court and he was found guilty at the time. What sort of sentence would he have got?

The worrying thing is that a jury would probably have found Jimmy Savile not guilty.

If I took to court the people who groped me in the 60's half the men in Crewe would be arrested, I'm now in my 60's and nobody bothers.

My wife says exactly the same, ferret, my sisters, too. In fact I did a quick survey of all my female relatives and friends and not one of them said they had never been groped, flashed at, rubbed against in a crowded place or any other such unpleasantness.

None of them would consider reporting those incidents to the police now (although the majority don't know the names of the attackers) although some of them were very upset at the time.

It's not right for men to behave in that way and hopefully things have changed.

I've been groped more times than I can count, the downside to living in a pub I suppose, but I was groped by men that really should have known better, in my school uniform as well!!

hc - it does now seem that CPS and senior police officers are to meet to decide whether to proceed with prosecution of the two other DLT charges.

I would have thought they had submitted all the evidence they have - so wonder what else they can put before a jury?

I really don't know. What I want to know is if one of these victims complained at the time and DLT was found guilty in court, what would the sentence have been for touching a breast over clothing?
Would it have got to court?

Oh! The judge has ordered the other two charges to be dismissed.
They think it's all over..... it is now!

Baldric, I was either misinformed or they changed their minds. The authorities are to decide whether to try DLT again for two counts that the jury couldn't decide on.

DLT & others were young men taking advantage of star-struck groupies. You had to be hideous not to have ur bum or tit pinched 20+y ago; who is gonna admit to that ;)
