Difficult to see how to stop it entirely, especially if people wont take the basic steps to protect themselves.

I don't think I'd be comfortable with booking a holiday through a company that isn't a household name or doesn't come recommended by people I know. LOL I usually use the AB to check companies out -see who else used them!
