American and British folk music, and some other stuff i hope they repeat, good channel, most of the other BBC stuff is dire.

I'm very pleased indeed that BBC4 has survived.
It may be an age thing, but I simply find BBC3 noisy and annoying.

I love BBC4.
However... I am old and culturally minded, and the channel seems made for people like me.
People who are 50 years younger and like a bit of fun might prefer BBC3. It may be the BBC is tailoring its decision to the mature middle-class, middle-aged market, and risking losing the attention of those who may make up this same market in a couple of decades.

Jno, totally agree, except why shouldn't culturally-minded, vintage (not older) people have their preferences catered for. Some of us find that Peppa Pig in the morning gets a tad repetitive, we need our me-time. Love sp1814's list of BB4 progs, a true polyglot, we should all be fluent in Scandanavian soon.
It was only in December that the BBC lauchedthe Three HD channel. To then axe it a few weks later suggests muddled thinking.
