Well, if it needs an enquiry, AOG then it had better have one. I bet the Met wished they had investigated this murder properly years, then it would have been all done and dusted by now. But instead, they lied and lied and lied. What silly Plods we have !

/// What silly Plods we have ! ///

Yes especially when one of their own gets hacked to death by a gang of savages in front of their very own eyes, and we still have not seen a single person locked up for it.
AOG...that is nothing whatsoever to do with the Stephen Lawrence case, but I too hope that somebody is banged up for Blakelock's murder as well.

/// AOG...that is nothing whatsoever to do with the Stephen Lawrence case, but I too hope that somebody is banged up for Blakelock's murder as well. ///

No but it's a fair comparison.
The inquiry is not about the original acts it is about the behavior of the Old bill after it.
AOG - it seems to me that you have ' a thing ' about the SL case .

What would you like to be done about the matter ?
It certainly does seem that way, Bazile.

I don't understand the comparison between the two cases.
I believe there are similarities between both cases.

Stephen Lawrence was murdered by a bunch of mindless savages on the streets of London, and without the diligent work of Doreen Lawrence, they would have gone on to enjoy lives of crime.

Actually, David Norris and Gary Dobson did just that.

And so did Winston Silcott (except, Silcott didn't murder PC Blakelock, where as the savages Norris and Dobson DID kill their intended prey - filth that they are).

Dobson, 36, was a teenage gang member turned drug supplier who had alredy been behind bars for dealing cannabis.

On March 18, 1993 Norris was accused of stabbing 20 year-old Stacey Benefield with a miniature sword during an scuffle in Kidbrooke, south London.

In September 2002 Norris, was jailed for 18 months for a racist attack on black off-duty police officer Gareth Reid in Eltham on May 11 of the same year.

What a savage!

True filth eh?

Imagine - you get away with murdering one innocent black man, and what do you do? Try and keep out of trouble? No...you try to kill another!!!

Extreme knuckle-dragger.

Sp I'm not clear was the off duty policeman attacked because he was black or because he was a policeman, or was it a mixture of the two?
jomifl

I don't know, but the weight of probability with this young savage suggests that him being black AND a copper, would have been 'the perfect storm'.
Good. Given the latest shocking revelations, coming hard on the heels of all the other revelations about dubious practices especially within the Met, such an enquiry is long overdue. Not quite sure why we need to have a special crime of police corruption to be introduced, as Theresa May seems to want, but the police need to do a lot lot more to regain the trust of the public. They can only govern through consent, but they have taken some grievous liberties with the public trust over the last decade or so.

What's your position about the savage filth that slaughtered Stephen Lawrence.

Do you agree that they are scum?

That, if they moved next door to you, you would be on to Chestertons to sell your house.

Thank you for raising this post. Like you, I think that these filthy savages should be remembered for the hurt they have caused not only Stephen Lawrence's brave family, but the rest of the country.

Like you, I feel ashamed that I come from the same country as these monsters.

Apologies to any monsters who might be reading this...
And yet another trial in the Blakelock case AOG.
That's because serious errors were made in both cases.
Wouldn't you want the murderer of your child brought to justice without your own family being harassed for it?
I don't see your point.
AOG

Interesting point that Mojo-Jo-Jo raises....

What is your 'statute of limitations' when it comes to the people you love?

I think I know what AOG's point is...but I'm loathe to say, because I want to give him the chance to explain his point of view.

Will check tomorrow, when he has had a chance to...to...to...

...gather his thought...
I find AOG defending his point of view a lot without actually giving it SP, but hey-ho, we'll wait and see.
That was a major typo.

I meant to write 'gather his thoughts' NOT 'gather his thought'.

That would suggest that AOG is obsessed by a single topic on AnswerBank and I GENUINELY didn't meant to suggest...

...hmmm...or it could be the worst Freudian Slip ever...
I watched Neville Lawrence being interviewed last night, first on Channel Four news and then on Newsnight. Considering all that has happened in this sorry, long-drawn out affair, over the last 20 years, I thought he behaved with immense dignity. But who can blame him for voicing doubts about whether this new Enquiry will actually achieve anything, when the Police have lied so much in the past ?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26478546

How are the Augean Stables of the Metropolitan Police going to be finally swept clean, when every new Enquiry unearths yet more evidence that as fast as the muck can be taken out the front door, its still piling up through the back door ?

Whenever something like this happened, someone here on AB posts that their relative or friend is in the Met and they are wonderful chaps. I have no difficulty in believing that most Police Officers behave with exactly the necessary probity that is required of them. But the new evidence that is going to be investigated with the new Enquiry seems to show that corruption and sheer stupidity started at the top of the organisation, and wasn't confined to a few rogue racist Officers.

Next time you hear the Police complaining that they don't have enough "resource" to investigate crimes properly, perhaps they should be gently reminded that time might be better utilised to investigate the suspects rather than the friends and family of the victim.

/// AOG ///

/// What's your position about the savage filth that slaughtered Stephen Lawrence. ///

/// Do you agree that they are scum? ///

Of course I do, that goes without saying, but my criticisms stem from the fact that this case has been systematically reported on since that poor teenager was savagely attacked and murdered, and yet there have been scores of other white murders in which no one has been found guilty of, but the mothers of these victims have not been made a Baroness, one has to ask why this is?

Going back to the case of PC Blakelock, savagely mutilated and murdered by a gang of black rioters. imagine the outcry if a single black person was so butchered, all those years ago and still no one taken to task over it?

The PC's only crime was protecting some fire-fighters from the mob, a mob who were part of a wholesale riot brought on simply because a local black woman was unfortunate to die of heart failure during a police search of her home, this could happen to a white person but I very much doubt that gangs of white people would take to the streets and riot, why?

Without condoning any murders be them black or white, I think we should be able to discuss the unbalance and reaction we see when the victims skin colour comes into the debate.

Take your answers sp, you are quick to express your sympathies with 'the family of Stephen Lawrence' (no let me rephrase that in your own words) the 'BRAVE' family of Stephen Lawrence) and yet you do not mention PC Blakelock's murder or his family, only to say /// I believe there are similarities between both cases. /// and that was only to point out that Winston Silcott did not murder the PC, so really I cannot see the similarities, can you?

Now can you see the total unbalance between the black and white cases, but I don't expect you to do so, because you are not white, you know from many exchanges that we have had that I always fight for a level playing field.

Now I have provided you with my point of view perhaps you won't be so shy to tell us all what you think AOG's point is, seeing before you were rather shy to enlighten us.

AOG - Stephen Lawrence was killed 'because he was black'.

The Met failed to properly investigate the killing 'because he was black'.

The Met failed the family in every way possible and then sought to use underhand tactics to undermine their (the Lawrences) credibility at every turn 'because he was black'.

Whilst there may be a regrettable number of unsolved *white* murder cases, I doubt that any of the victims were murdered 'because they were white', or that the Police took a less than committed approach to solving the cases 'because they were white', or that the family had to suffer the added distress of coming under unfair scrutiny 'because they were white'.
