The person sitting next to me is convinced that the joke is that they're only really ever pretending to publish news, and that in a wonderful twist they don't stick to April Fools' Day either...
The trouble is, Ann, it could be any one of a number of articles. So ludicrous are some of the true stories that it is very difficult to tell when an April Fool's story is among them.
Are there any articles lauding incomers to our shores and praising the EU?

No - I'm sure its the Union Jack article, purely by the campaigner's name Avril McTickle! Who would have a name like that? :)

There was an April Fool some years ago where they said a certain country would be moving from driving on the left to driving on the right. Cars would follow the new rules on Monday 1 April and lorries, buses, etc would adopt the new rule on Tues 2 April...............ha ha
