No Water Stops Play
A half marathon scheduled for today in Sheffield had been cancelled due to lack of drinking water. The runners ran despite it being cancelled.

Let's hope there's enough water for the boat race.

the organisers are being roundly condemned by everybody as being utterly incompetent. if they really were (as they claim) let down by their supplier, why aren't they naming and shaming them? could it be that the fault is not with their supplier at all?

I've run the Sheffield half marathon, and 2 men collapsed near me (one within sight of the finish line), so I can see the organisers were cautious. When I ran the Nottingham half marathon, it felt like there was an ambulance at every corner in some parts of the course tending to people in a state.
What is disgusting is that the organisers are refusing to refund any entry fees.

looks like the half marathon problems were of the organiser's own making.
