Here is the menu, I thought that the choice of dessert was in bad taste. :0)
Starter
Halibut with baby leeks in a fine herb sauce
Main Course
Tournedos of Windsor Estate beef with wild mushrooms and watercress purée
Purple sprouting broccoli in hollandaise sauce
Onions stuffed with parmesan and bulgur wheat
Savoyarde potatoes and salad
Dessert
Vanilla ice-cream bombe with Windsor redcurrant centre and fruit plate
Wines
Ridgeview Cuvée Merret Grosvenor 2009
Meursault 1er Cru Perrières 2005, Chanson Père et Fils
Château Léoville-Barton 1990, 2ème Cru Classé, St Julien
Louis Roederer Carte Blanche NV
Quinto do Noval Vintage Port 1966
And why was 'M' there?

The Menu is as one would expect for a state occasion, I would have passed on the stuffed onions lovely as they sound.
I am sure the wines were an excellent choice too.
Judi Dench is a Dame of the British Empire, though there are likely other reasons for her attendance than that.

Well why not, AOG, after all Queenie was feeding the Pres of Ireland and there are standards to be maintained.
Why was M there? I assume you mean McGuinness, a democratically elected minister of Northern Ireland, whether you like it or not.
She could have gone for thousand pound bottles of wine (wit a Léoville Barton 1955 though I would prefer the same vintage for a Chateau St Pierre.).
I guess it would have been baked beans on toast and Irn Bru if she had entertained you.......!

If you had a spark of humour in your body, you would realise that it was a joke and 'M' was the character from James Bond films, that stared Dame Judi Dench, not McGuinness as you incorrectly assumed, hence the jpg link.
