DF, sorry you are totally wrong about that, many people throw stuff out, partly due to overbuying, partly due to these food labels which state end of use dates, also the supermarkets are as much at fault, binning perfectly good food.
Question Author
emmie > partly due to overbuying <

don't think those that are short of cash will be overbuying anything these days
-- answer removed --
DF, if for a time one has to cut back then so be it, but look in any supermarket, two for one offers are prominent, means that whilst you pay for the one item, the other may well go to waste, fruit is a case in point, large bags of oranges for a pound say, and get one free, but unless you get on and eat the lot. they won't last, same for other goods,
Many people don't realise just how much they throw out, wasted food is part of our lives, it shouldn't be, but it is.
pound shops are doing a roaring trade
Question Author
and spend 100 quid getting the train up to Manchester, mind you i expect that other pound shops may well be following suit - will have a look next time out shopping
People being filthy and throwing food out where rats can get to it...equals rats, super sized or not and not just oop north! Train the masses to dispose of waste properly then you might not see so many rats.
Question Author
emmie i have a pound shop near my doctors and often go in when i pick up a prescription
i go into any number for bargains, don't see why the big supermarkets should get my money, if i can find what i want there.
Sorry, but I found the tone of the question a bit offensive, even if it was meant tongue in cheek. As far as I can see, the biggest rats of all live in and around our capital city, smugly declaring that everything is fine and dandy and it's everyone else fault if they're poor. I live up (no oo's in it) north and I lead the life of Riley.
I bet they are better than the rats down south in London aka government.
Lynda B i agree with you im from up north and yes it is offensive, whether meant or not. I am northern and proud of it but id never dream of making such a crass statement about southerners
i live in the capital, and it has some fairly poor citizens, however i maintain that we have become a very throw away society.
Dr.Filth, you and Farriercm make a perfect team.
