Sounds like a build up to massive prices for alcohol for all of us to me.

from the article "There has been a steady decrease in violent crime every year for the past six years.". Well if that is the case how is it linked to dearer booze, prices have only risen in the last 2-3 years and even then not that much. There is still plenty of cheap white lightening etc available.

Perhaps it is more to do with people finally seeing sense, and many videos showing how stupid you look when totally plastered.

As I say, watch out for the anti booze campaigners now smoking is in decline.

WE MUST NOT ENJOY OURSELVES.

Because so many people can't afford to go to the pub so they get drunk at home and fall asleep on the sofa...
The amount of alcohol needed to 'enjoy yourself' is a lot less than that required to induce crawling around mindlessly in the gutter vomiting uncontrollably.Unless of course the latter option is actually enjoyable, anybody tried it?
no i don't.
A binge drinker: for a man: drinking more than 3 pints or for a woman its more than two pints of alcohol in one evening.

Based on that I have had a lot of binge drinking sessions!!
No, mainly because I don't think booze has risen. There may be a few places charging what they like but most in my area at least are locked in brutal competetion. For example there is a place near me where you can get 2 pints for £4.20. The supermarkets are as cheap as ever, even the WSC can get their white lightening for a shilling a gallon. If there is a reduction in violence then great but I have no idea why. Although on News 24 this morning it was reported that a lot of teenagers are not even starting boozing maybe that explains some of the reduction.
And maybe something to do with the staggered closing times.
our pubs have, but to be fair everything is expensive here, more pubs closing than ever.
