Euro elections are just a chance to check the political parties' standings in a real-vote situation, as opposed to opinion polls. However, your vote is a waste of time.# Do we even get to hear, in advance, what new law is being proposed? Do the MEPs let us know, do the Media? In contrast, if Cameron or Salmond is planning any little tweak to current legislation,...

Think he means his record as prime minister in relating to the EU and European issues, plus his promise to renegotiate and to call a referendum...
Cameron took the Conservative MEPs from the majority group (ie, the grouping with the most power) and he moved his merry men to sit with Italian and Spanish far right fascists, who fortunately have a very small grouping (and no power).

I will certainly judge him on his record in the European Parluament.
So will I Gromit - after the broken promise of (as I understood it during his term as PM)we would be offered a referendum, my protest vote will go to UKIP, whom I have never voted for.
// Edward Davey, the Liberal Democrats' foreign affairs spokesman, said: "This announcement confirms that the Tories have left the mainstream of European politics and joined forces with a rag-bag of parties with extreme views. The Conservatives have opted to throw away influence in Europe in favour of ideological isolationism. //

He is not wrong.
Dont delude yourselves. We have no influence wherever we sit in the EU.

The best place is out, but all politicians from the mainstream parties have their nose so firmly in the trough that we will never get a choice.

Are all the question marks meant to mean something or do you have a key stuck?
Labour's Party Election Broadcast seemed to have very little to do with Europe, really -- as usual, I don't think that many people are seeing the EU elections as anything other than a sort of glorified referendum on the current government.
It is clear that the Conservatives will have a very bad day on Euro Polling Day. But will Labour or UkiP be the beneficiary?

Gosh YMB It does not take much to annoy you, just a silly few Question Marks.

But with Brussels you just find that ... "you can't do that (any more), it's against a new EU Law". And that's it, done and dusted forever. No democratic scrutiny.
