i don't know if anyone has posted this, but there are special screenings for parents with babies http://www.odeon.co.uk/newbies/
Surely only the baby was underage. Why did they kick her out as well?
lol yeah, she could have asked the 11 week old to wait outside for her
How daft to take a baby to the cinema, they should have told her before they sold her the ticket though.
Typical of teh selfishness of some of todays younger generation I am afraid
don't think it was so much selfish, we all like a break from parental duties, however the cinema should have made it plain that as a certificate 15 film, the baby wouldn't have been allowed in.
Call our family weird, but my mother and I took twins who were about 2-3 months old ( cant remember exactly but too little to squirm about) to the cinema and they were quiet as mice throughout the whole film- didn't disturb anyone. I think this is an English people hate kids type of thing. I can't see a problem with it if they weren't disturbing anyone- she wasn't being selfish, she was just trying to have a life- not a crime.
why say English, please don't, as you couldn't tell an English person from any other, unless they tell you they are English specifically,
we don't hate children, and yes she is entitled to a life, and if the film had a 12 or under certificate it wouldn't have been a problem, i do concur with others that the sound alone can deafen an adult, let alone a new born.
I said English because this happened in Cambridge which is in England.
and don't other nationalities reside in or visit Cambridge. On my last visit a few months back there were more tourists than you can shake a stick at, which is often the case, being on the tourist map, strange that this should be down to the English.
‘We were escorted out. I was really looking forward to watching the movie and catching up with a friend.’

A cinema is the last place I would choose to catch up with a friend.
The English do hate kids, imo.
do they, strange because that is not my experience.
and don't you live in Ireland,
and can anyone tell me who are the English, i live here and can't tell, unless someone says they were born here.

the cinema was at fault, and the woman could have found a better venue to
do a catch up with her friend.
I'm not English bashing, but it just seems natural to refer to English if something happens in England. I mean if I had a road accident in Germany I bet you wouldn't say ' Oh those Greek Traffic Police are unhelpful' would you? Of course not. It's just natural to refer to the country of origin. To make you happy yes, it could have been any nationality at all at the cinema who asked her to leave.
I wouldn't call your family weird, just selfish. Luckily for you, and more importantly, everyone else those 2 kids stayed silent for 2 hours+. If you want an unfettered life, don't have kids.
its annoying to always being told English this, English that, when most wouldn't know an English person from a hole in the ground. The person who ejected the woman could as you say have been from any place.
does it matter, they were at fault.
Emmie...I'm Irish but I live in England.

I do find that attitudes here are still kids should be seen but not heard.
Nothing selfish about it at all Svejk. Had they made a noise we would have left, totally unselfish imo and interestingly it's not something which is at all uncommon abroad, you see it quite often, just seems to be a problem here , which does swing us around to the notion that the BRITS have about kids. there are some really narrow child haters in the UK if you go out with children, as is demonstrated by your attitude. If my mother chooses to take her quiet, well behaved, children out with her and they don't disturb you, then what possible business is it of yours Svejk?
That's the nail on the head. How will kids learn if they are expected to be kept indoors?

Take them out. Teach them how to behave in public.
