I agree. The other parties are running scared and trying to discredit Farage at every turn.

Deserved or not, they do come with a certain reputation, I think I would be wary to say the least, for a while!
Being honest is not the same as being right.
I barely know one of the people who lives inside my flat, let alone the people who live next door. If they were Romanian or not, it would make exactly difference. I expect in truth that most people wouldn't care really.
We wouldn't mind. Our road already had Czech, Slovaks, Bulgarians, and Lithuanians. They're working, they're no problem.
Luckily, anyone with an ounce of common sense can see straight through these charlatans.
Of course Clegg and Millipede will be delighted if Romanians move in next door,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,to YOU.
I know little about Romania, I know less about Romanians and no I would not be happy about the "unknown" living next to me.

Would i get used to them?.........I might.
What do you want? the real answer or the AB approved answer?
It depends if they are decent people or not. I don`t care who lives next door if they are OK. Unfortunately, the only experience of Romanians that I have is a family down the road. They blocked up the sewers and we all had water in our garden because they were pouring fat down the drain. They dumped a load of rubble beside the garages and Environmental Health had to speak to them. There are often dodgy looking men coming and going and some of the family have recently been released from jail for burglary. Their house is a disgrace and the people next door will never be able to sell and frankly, I wouldn`t trust any of them one little bit. Luckily, they don`t live next door to me.

I met this guy in the late 60's in Leeds and hid delightful wife and i would have no hesitation in them being my neighbours, however i have the impression that this is not an example of the quality of immigrants that we expect.
The only ones that I have met had Horse drawn Caravans and a Crystal Ball ! :-)
// Mr Farage said he thought people would be concerned if a group of Romanians moved in next door, //

I am sure he is right. Many, but not all would be concerned. Farage is trying to appeal to those that would be concerned, so it is a legitimate to target his remarks to them.

The whole anti UKiP barage at the moment could back fire. People can see they are being unfairly picked on by all sides (because they are worried) and that might persaude them to vote for UKiP instead of putting them off.
next door to who/what ?
You.
If the neighbours were law-abiding, taxpaying and peaceful, what would there be to complain about ?
Would I be happy?

Depends on what they were like.

I would find it impossible to judge before meeting them because I don't judge people based on nationality alone.
Sp,

But Farages potential voters do.

Hence he was talking to them, not you.
atalanta...But according to Farage, being Romanian means that they can't be law-abiding, taxpaying and peaceful. He is tarring everybody that comes from that country with the same brush, just like black people from the Caribbean, all Jews, and all Irish have been in the past.

Some Romanians are a problem, and there is no point in denying that, but according to Farage, they are all the same and that is what he said was racist.

When my father first came over from Ireland to London just after WW2, there were boarding houses that had signs up saying

"No blacks, no dogs and no Irish" If Farage had his way, those days would be back again.
mikey there were at least two boarding houses on moss lane east in the sixties with the same signs
