You Gov Poll On Plastic Bag Charge

As you can see, most people Polled agreed with the 5p charge...roughly 2 to 1 in favour. But can anyone explain why UKIP supporters gave such a different result ? 49% agree and 44% oppose ?
Why should UKIP supporters be so much at odds to all other parties ?
The answer doesn't appear to be explained by gender, age, or social grade.
Curiouser and curiouser !

The sky rarely falls in nor does civilisation end as a result of government legislation, Mikey. Much of it (like this issue) is of little overall consequence introduced to make politicians feel important in the false belief that they must be seen to be doing something (when in fact most of the electorate would prefer they did nothing). Either that or it is designed to screw extra money from taxpayers to be wasted.
All much of it does is simply to make life a little more difficult as a result of pettifogging rules introduced by interfering busybodies. For most people life goes on despite the best efforts of politicians not because of them. Most people would be happy to let them draw their salaries and expenses provided they just argued with each other in Parliament but on the condition that they just left everybody else alone They could then get on with their lives and do the work necessary to keep the country going.

I hope we were debating Bernie, not arguing !
I understand you disillusionment with the main two parties. I am a Labour supporter and always have been but even I am not 100% proud of everything that they done. I suspect that even the most diehard fan of Mrs Voldemort didn't find everything she and her government did was entirely OK. I would guess that everybody must have have some doubts about any party that they support.
I just question wasting your vote on a party that has no chance whatsoever of winning, thats all. Better that you abstain perhaps ?

If you have followed the Harry Potter books, or films than you will know that Voldemort is the ghastly baddie, who was so bad that nobody dare say his name.
Mrs Voldemort died last April and since then I have pledged never to mention her name ever again...work it out...she died 08-04-2013. I can't and won't be more specific !

DB..your version of twentieth century history is a little at odds with the truth, but leaving that aside, UKIP show no appearance of developing a manifesto of sufficient strength and character to ensure victory at the next General Election, or any election in the near future. They may do so of course, but in my opinion it is highly unlikely. Their only purpose is removal of Britain from the EU, which Farage has admitted on many occasions. |If that is achieved, then UKIP will have completed its task.
The next Government will be either a Tory one or a Labour one. There may be some kind of coalition but if it is, it will be on the lines of what we have have had since May 2010...a predominantly main party one, propped up by a small, ineffective party, or parties.

May I say again, as I have said many times before, UKIP WILL NOT WIN THE 2015 ELECTION !

That's ok, because neither will Labour.
Only mikey could spin a thread about the correlation between UKIP and plastic bags into a 50+ posts thread.
You really MUST address this fixation with a 'minor political party' mikey, I worry for your health!

My bag for life died on me a few weeks ago, so don't be giving it the old soldier about them mikey. The Tories will hopefully, as Chill has already said win the next election although I hope Cameron will go further with the in/out promise. Clegg and Cable of the Lib/Dems fame will hopefully be gorn the same way as Mrs Valdemort, thank goodness.
