How I feel for her parents. Yet another hope dashed. And yet they still think she may be still alive. I hope so but I wouldn't want to bet any money on it.

At some point her parents will have to let go, just like all the other parents of missing children. Remember Ben Needham ?
They have other children to think of, but I'm glad I am not in their shoes, as I have no idea what I would do in similar circumstances.

I have a strong feeling she'll never be found either, but I can't begin to imagine what her parents feel, and I understand their need never to give up. They have to do what they have to do to get through this. Yes, I've heard about Ben Needham and remember them digging up an area near where he vanished not so long ago. I think he's dead too unfortunately.
Ben Needham's mother hasn't let go and she still believes Ben is alive.
I don't think any parent of a missing child ever lets go.

My nephew who now lives in Sidney, used to work in Dubai. He spent a year there, sofa-surfing in various flats on the "Palm" His abiding memory of that year was the constant din of AC units, days and night. He found it almost impossible to sleep at nights. He also said that the surest way to commit suicide out there was to go for a walk at mid-day without a broad brimmed hat on. And people now go there on their hols !
I know this is going to make me unpopular, but I have no sympathy for the parents. You do not leave kids unattended and asleep whilst you are out at the local bar...end of! Anything could happen and sadly did. Very sorry for Maddie, but it was not her fault. There is more to being a parent than bringing your kids up 'right'.
I tend to think that best chance there ever was of solving this case it would have been in the first 48 hours max. Maybe it is arrogant but I think the British police would have covered that far far better than it was by the locals. Few parents would ever give up in the same situation and they have more than paid for what some see as such shocking parenting.

Divebuddy- lovely as ever to hear from you, and your post is up to your usual standard I see. Have you ever tried actually stretching yourself? I'm sure if you tried really, really hard one day you might even attain mediocrity.
To address your point- that's why the word 'crime' was in inverted commas.Since you don't appear to understand the use of inverted commas in this scenario, here's a little information to help you.
