I hope for her sake that none of the family stay in Sudan.....

She's in Khartoum for the moment, but looks as though the US might be happy for her to accompany her husband home there. So far as I can see they have lifted the death sentence but no-one seems quite sure about the 100 lashes, but here's hoping they are lifted too. Anyway it's primarily a happy result.
It is indeed good news, let's hope they can get her on a plane and out of there sharpish.
Some very good news !
Ladybirder posted this news earlier today on the original thread and as she says, until this lady is out of Sudan she is still in danger.

//‘It’s better for her to come to America now as her half brother said that he would kill her if the court did not carry out the sentence.//

I didn't notice it on the 'original' thread Naomi, I scanned down the news section for a new topic about it and since I consider this separate news anyway I think it's worth it's own thread, but thank you for your contribution.
You're welcome. Best to have all the information. Unfortunately she's not out of the woods yet.

No indeed, I shall be much happier when she and her children are out of the country. I hope the US pull their fingers out and get her to safety since her husband lives there.
That's good news. If we can just get the other 15 million women to safety so much the better.
Let's send them some more money - the corrupt warlords could use some more bling...

The new funding brings the UK’s total support for South Sudan since the start of the crisis in December 2013 to around £93 million. The UK announced a package of £12.5 million in December and £8.3m for the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation in March. £13 million has also been allocated to help refugees in South Sudan and neighbouring countries.
Ludwig, yes indeed.
Poor woman, she's gone through hell.
viv, I wonder how many other cases have gone unreported, what a vile lot they are.
Indeed, probably the tip of the iceberg.
