These are very rare cases but when he get one they are particularly shocking and emotive. How any parent can commit such a crime is beyond me and you have to seriously question the mother's actions.
You will always have the evil v mentally unstable argument and whether the authorities could have done more to prevent this occurring.
A very sad case indeed.

She doesn't sound ill to me. It's this in the report that sways it for me:
The court heard that Adekoya's internet history had showed searches including "I find it hard to love my son", "I love all of my children except one", "Why am I so aggressive with my son" and "Get rid of bruises".
That, to me, sounds like she is trying to rationalise her thoughts. With her actions afterwards in lying to the police I think she was trying to cover herself. When I compare this to Tania Clarence (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-28194876) who was committed, I think Rosdeep Adekoya is evil.

I think that's what the "in two minds" element of schizophrenia is about: having mental problems but knowing you've got them and being unable to do anything about it. I don't know if she sought help from doctors as well as from Google, but looking online for advice about why you don't love your child indicates to me that she knew something was terribly wrong with her.
From the Telegraph:
The twins were taken into foster care in Fife after Adekoya left all five children at home in July 2012 without proper supervision to go out in Edinburgh.
Weeks earlier, her mother Harjinder Kular had twice contacted social services after her daughter started going out and drinking to excess.
So she neglected them, them killed one.
