Ironically though hamas talk a lot about exterminating the Jews, the Jews quietly (amid the noise of battle) get on with exterminating the Palestinians as if it is the god given right of the 'chosen' people to commit war crimes with impunity. Israel is been governed by a brutal fascist who is trying to win votes by killing Palestinians. It worked last time, that is why he is still in power.

That's so true sandy. Why is it when anyone speaks against these horrible warcrimes and crimes against humanity they're labeled as anti semetic? If this was done by any other country there would be public uproar and outrage but it's tolerated by many who turn a blind eye to these horrible crimes against those poor people.It's just not fair.

Suppose the Palestinians had by now herded Israelis into a tiny ghetto, walled them in and proceeded to bomb them, their power stations, schools, hospitals, etc., killing as many women, children and elderly as potential male fighters in the process. This being done on the premise of self defence against attacks from the ghetto, would those who currently support Israel in their "cause", or at least silently stand by and tolerate Palestinian actions ? Hamas are no angels but Israel's conduct is so one-sided as to be inexcusable.

Incidentally, to me Putin's response, when the first accusations against Ukranian separatists over the aircraft being shot down surfaced, was to say that it was the fault of those who attacked the separatists. Israel's justification is that they have been attacked (with largely improvised munitions) - was Putin indirectly acknowledging that the separatists actually had shot down the aircraft (in self defence) ?

They’re certainly not – they’re a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, the fundamentalist organisation that was recently ousted from power in Egypt whose ultimate aim is to impose Islam upon the world. Whilst there is no moral justification whatsoever for Israel’s existence, and there is certainly no moral justification for its disproportionate bombardment of Gaza, before casting our vote we need to look past the appalling images on the television screen and really think about what it is we’re supporting in the long term.
