Is the Mail on Sunday trying to stir up hatred against gay people (again)?

Yes it is misleading but what else do you expect from the Daily Wail ? The Wail always has to slip in an anti Gay, anti immigrant, anti benefit claimant or what ever is on their current 'hate list' slant to every story. With this one they have managed to get an anti gay and anti benefit claim slant by mentioning 'tax payer funded' and ' gay' in one sentence.

I don't usually look at these forums, being interested in some of the others but came across it when searching for something else. So shocked at some of these answers. I think 'sp' that most people would rather NHS money be spent on life saving operations for children and drugs for cancer patients than designer babies for single women and gay people. I have no problem with lesbians (my daughter being one but should she ever want a baby she certainly wouldn't expect the state to pay for it) but let's get our priorities right in this bankrupt NHS. As for Mikey, I am signing off as a girl from a Northern Mill Town, brought up in a Council house, started work at 15, lifelong DM AND MOS reader!!!!!

/// But moaning at the DM is like peeing into the wind. The DM prints what DM readers want to read...DM readers don't read anything that challenges their narrow right-wing view of life, otherwise they probably wouldn't read the DM in the first place. Just ignore the paper sp, even when its being misleading and offensive. ///
Mmmmm, perhaps you should consider terminating your Answerbank membership?

This is what happens with misleading headlines.
People will go away with the idea that this scheme is exclusively for same sex couples.
If you look at the facts as they have been presented (albeit further into the report), you can see that it's not limited in any way.
AOG - you have often stated that you abhor prejudice and simply want a level playing field for all. Doesn't this story suggest just that? You posted on the first page of this thread that sperm banks should be for heterosexual couples only, but why?
