Morning Sqad ! If Boris is in the running to be Leader of the Opposition next year, my money will always be on him, no matter who else is standing ! If he doesn't stand (fat chance of that ! ) then its Mrs May. She has shown real testicles these last few months, something the whole Tory front bench hasn't always managed to produce. Londoners think he should do the job he's got. (The mayoral one, I mean; but he makes a fortune from journalism as well.)
Throwing his hat into the ring was always on the cards.

IMO any city/town who has been daft enough to have a mayor, but has one who doesn't do their job, is very lucky. Those who do change things seem intent on making the area a worse place to be.
when did Cameron go away?

4 days ago and it's a happy holiday for Cameron.

Warsi quits blaming his policy

Boris announces he's standing for parliamentary elections in 2015

Coulson gets indicted for perjury whilst working for Dave as PM.

It must be a VERY relaxing break...
// "So let me put it this way. I haven't got any particular seat lined up but I do think in all probability I will try to find somewhere to stand in 2015. //

Finding somewhere to stand in 2015 and fighting in the General Election are not necessarily the same thing.
He could let Cameron lose the election, and then stand in a bye election afterwards in time for his elevation to party leader at the Conservative Party Conference.
Boris wants to be an MP again.....well, well, well...you could have knocked me down with a feather !

Be afraid dave, be very afraid.
Not news really and I suspect Cameron knew already.
Boris will get a safe seat.

IF the Conservatives do not win the next election, then there will be a straight fight for the leadership of the Conservative Party.

Boris Johnson......Theresa May.........Philip Hammond.

My money?......Philip Hammond.

Of course if the Cons win a working majority.....Dave stays.

BUT......who will replace ED if Labour do not get a working majority?

Interesting times ahead.
Of course its news !

Boris has been saying...

"Waar, waar, waar, whir, whir, whir, (scratch head a few times, quote some Latin)...I have no ambitions to be an MP again" and "I will not be applying for a safe seat until my second term of office as Mayor of The Worlds Best City is over " and " I have ambitions to be PM"

Etc, etc, for years, and now he tells us the truth. Its on the front of every newspaper in the country this morning, and he was interviewed by just about everybody yesterday, including that lady off Ch4 news, who could hardly keep a straight face.

Of course its news !
Oh mikey you might at least have had Boris say:

amor loris ipsem......

sorry readers - that is half-Latin that they use to block up newspapers, curtains and mock newsprint. It actually has a name and a wiki entry - er which escapes me
Morning Sqad !

A formidable lady, without any shadow of a doubt. She reminds me of a previous Tory woman, whose name I have forgotten, and I have no wish to be reminded !

Not sure about Labour though, as there isn't a clear front runner. I learned something yesterday, from the Ch4 news interview with Boris. He and Ed are ex-alumni of the same Primary School in Primrose Hill !
I am sure the little fella has had ten phone calls already
( and a few from lack-lustre labour seats ...)

PP...its a very long time since I did Latin but I would never question Boris's ability to speak it fluently !

I can't help but like Boris....his amusement capability seems to be virtually limitless. By the way, what is the Latin for "werr, werr, werr" ?
Little fella PP ?...sorry, being a bit thick today !
Hmm the Greek for werr werr werr is

bar-bar-bar......coz that is where we get the word Barbarian from - The greeks thought they were saying....

Latin I have will have to think about
The commentators said - he can get you to listen for 30s and that is so important for a politician....

and it was true - I cheerfully listened and watched whilst he ruffled his fair hair and said wer wer wer
It's like Party leader Bingo.

A) Hung parliament with Conservatives most votes = Cameron, Miliband, Clegg go.
B) Hung Parliament with Labour most votes* = Cameron and Clegg go.
C) Conservative win = Miliband and Clegg go.
D) Labour win = Cameron and Clegg go.
E) Any other scenario = Clegg goes

* if there was a Labour / LibDem coalition, a condition from Labour would be Cleggs removal as leader.

I doubt that there will be another coalition. The LibDems are going to lose a lot of seats and UKIP will not get enough (if any). Plaid and SNP might be in a position to help Labour if the election result is closer than last time, but I doubt they would help the Conservatives.
Thanks PP....some people have always underestimated Boris. But underneath that Music Hall act, is a first class, sharp and incisive brain. If he isn't PM at some time in the future, I will eat my hat !
PP

Lorem ispsum.
Jom.... thanks for my Best Answer...I don't often get one, despite trying awfully hard !
