The kid has a brain tumour - his parents have removed him from hospital and have taken him to France......surely that is their legal right? The hospital has triggered an enormous police search on either side of the Channel.
I am not debating the right or wrongs of this, though it's coming to light that they may well be Jehovahs (with an Islamic name for the kid), just questioning the legality of the hospital to impose without a court order.
well sqad . you are really on form today. just by looking at a picture you can tell us how extensive this wee boy's brain surgery was, and indeed what surgery he may well have had ? :)
that's odd. Medical consent is not required to remove a child from hospital unless the child has ben taken into some kind of legal guardianship that requires it.
Speaking outside Hampshire Constabulary's headquarters, Assistant Chief Constable Chris Shead said: "I can confirm we have obtained a European arrest warrant. What that will do is, when we find Ashya and his family, it will allow us to talk to his parents about what happened. Clearly we need to find out what their motive is in taking Ashya."
Shead said the European arrest warrant was based around "neglect", but added: "That does not necessarily mean they would be charged with that offence. It purely gives us the power to arrest, and then we'll be able to speak to them."
His head has not been fully shaved and hence hasn't had a flap raised for extensive surgery.
The dressing is just a cap.
If a bone flap was raised there would be either no dressing or tight bandages.
I just can't imagine where they think he is going to get better treatment than where he was and what good dragging him across Europe is going to do him. Please let him not be in pain and suffering. Let's hope we get some answers soon because if that was my child, hospital is where I would want him to be.
Well one poster says it's terminal another that he has a good chance of recovery. As I said previously no we can't criticise and conjecture because we don't know the facts.
If my child was terminal and fed by battery I might well not want it to die wired up in hospital.
Sqad, how can we know the true facts about this child's problems from what we read in the media? And I wouldn't want either of my kids' medical history being discussed in this way, where's the patient confidentially gone in this situation?
corylus.......we don't know the full facts perhaps or perhaps we do.
We very rarely know the full facts about on such topic on AB..e.g robberies, murders, rapes, extramarital affairs etc etc but surely that shouldn't stop us from giving our opinions.
If that was the case then AB, pubs, clubs, meetings throughout the country would be silent.
