Will close the port unless the UK does more and helps cover the cost of illegal immigrants.

I'm sorry but isn't this a case of NMFP? He needs to get legislation changed in his own country, whereby the illegals are returned to the nearest port in Africa.

Now they're storming ferries:

If any of them are Somali's they might be quite skilled at it!

In the same way that the Turks would facilitate travel, across and out of their country, so will the French.
If the refugees wanted to cross the UK to get to Ireland(unlikely, but for the sake of argument) would they be hindered at our borders?
The French blocking Calais would be cutting their nose off to spite their face. Ostende and Zeebrugge must be rubbing their hands in anticipation, seeing Euro symbols in their eyes accompanied by the ker-ching of cash tills.
Actually, I think madame may have a point. This country's gained such a, well deserved, reputation for a work-free life of luxury(comparatively) that it's a magnet for the world's moochers.
Like the old woman that throws out £10 worth of birdseed to feed the pigeons every day. All very nice for her and the birds but not so nice for the ***-splattered neighbours.

I've got an idea. If costs of things stick in her craw, why don't we vote that benefit entitlemets be standardised and the costs of them pooled across all EU taxpayers?

That way, no country can 'win' by ushering migrants through their porous borders. Wherever they choose to go every taxpayer in europe gets the bill.

Who knows, we may begin to see some zealous, hardworking guards on Europe's southern borders. ;-)

How do they end up in Calais in the first place? Simples, the French allow them to travel the length and breadth of their country to get there.
Maybe we can then let them travel the length of England until they are north of the border and hope Scotland vote YES!
Excellent analogy svegk! The mere maths of the size of this country also means its just not logical that "all refugees" can be housed and live here!
In our dreams, Spikey.

""""The removal of most of the internal border posts control within the EU was a very big mistake. """". Understatement of all times lol. They couldn't see it? Hmmm, of course they could! Every immigrant should be returned at point of entry (yeh and pigs might fly) but why oh why are zee Hinglish so stupid and soft of mind to keep them here with a view to getting rid 'eventually'. S o d the consequences they shouldn't even be able to get to Calais let alone Dover et al, it's down the frenchies to stop the flow and return them ASAP to point of exit from whence they came.
