Zacs...a famous Chinese Leader was asked back in the 70's by a journalist, what he thought about the French Revolution. His reply was " Its too early to tell"

On such an important issue like this, I would have thought that there would have to be a clear majority in favour, one way or the other, for any change to happen, not just one or two more votes.
jno...some do, clearly but at what cost ? These issues are really important as they effect everybody in Scotland, in their everyday lives, but Salmond has failed to answer them fully, or in some cases, at all. Its all been done on a
"it will be alright on the night" basis, which I find disturbing. Its has the smell of crisis management to me, which is never a good way to work.

But that wouldn't really be a democratic system would it? It would be someone, presumably currently in power, imposing rules.
And bt pay the way Scotch corner is nowhere near the border on Eng/Scot.

Zacs..I will own up and say that I don't know where Scotch Corner is but I expect you got my drift ! It seemed to fit what I was saying.
Mikey, if the vote goes...
Yes: 1,789,243
No: 1, 789, 242
that's "a clear majority"!
Bouncer...on the button ! RBS is currently partly owned by the Treasury, so what has Salmond got to say about that ?

But Mikey, you do understand the basis if a democratic vote don't you? In case you forgot, it means that the majority decision gets the vote, however slim that majority is. ;-).
ZM, that's exactly what I said several minutes ago!
Of course I do Zacs and QM. But to use QMs example, that is a lot of disaffected people, with no chance of parole. For the record, if this latest Poll is to be believed, my opinion is that the Scots are sleepwalking to disaster here.
European law means that if there's a yes vote, RBS may be required to move their HQ as most of their business is outwith Scotland. EU law means that the financial guarantees given by banks based in Scotland have to apply to their account holders in the rest of the UK.
cost isn't everything, mikey. Some people may think sacrifice is worth it.

And those who vote for the losing side are always disenfranchised to some extent; that, none the less, is democracy. Indeed, it's the form of democracy the British chose when they were offered an alternative.

Apologies QM.
Cost may not be everything but its bloody important, as all OAPs will find out a few months after the vote. My point is that these very important questions haven't been addressed fully by Salmond and yet he is expecting people to make a decision, without doubt the most the most important decision of our lives. This vote isn't like the Eurovision Song Contest ! Its terminal...once Scotland breaks away it can't really come back. Any vote needs to be an informed vote.
good morning all could someone please explain if the yes vote goes through what will the main impact be on us in England?
MIKEY, have a read and be informed

Bernie, no one seems to have a clear idea. It's a very complex issue. Don't forget Wales and NI too. Some are saying independence would have an impact upon the continuing peace process.
although i have no say in the matter could be the worse decision if the vote is yes that Scotland have made in there entire history!
Finally Scotland is waking up. A yes vote is the best way. Much said on here about only 50 pc voting yes, well it is the same the other way to. If we get a no with 40 odd pc saying yes there will be a lot of unhappy people who will not go away. That cannot be good for the uk or scotland since investors will shy away due to uncertainty.

I am unsure why you are targetting Cameron Mickey plenty of labour in the Yes. I dont really see this as a party political thing.
Welsh Devolution Referendum result;
for- 50.3%
against- 49.7%
