Outed Internet Troll Dead
I was shocked to read the orginal report of this woman trolling the McCanns and am doubly shocked by this news report
http:// www.dai lymail. co.uk/n ews/art icle-27 81377/B REAKING -NEWS-I nternet -troll- targete d-McCan ns-dead -hotel- room-da ys-flee ing-hom e.html
I cannot begin to understand what motivates some seemingly 'decent' people to become internet trolls but it seems the shame is too much to bear in this case.

Anyone with that level of obsession is usually suffering from a mental illness of some sort and as such probably wasn't fully responsible for he actions in the same way that you or I would be, either in her tweeting or her choice to end her own life. I really feel for her son as the papers are still rather crassly simply referring to her as a 'troll'- I don't think at this juncture a bit of sensitivity would go amiss.
Don't forget the McCann's don't have a Twitter account so the tweets weren't directed at them.
Many of the tweets are replies to other people's tweets - a discussion on Twitter. Seeing as a tweet is limited to 160 characters it is quite feasible that one comment could take several tweets.
A lot of the tweets were a response to media reports, such as a new book, an interview or a newspaper article.
Compared to what many other people have been tweeting about the McCann's - and look at some of the old threads here on AnswerBank - in the main her comments could be considered 'fair comment' as opposed to trolling.
The McCann's have said they had not seen any of her tweets. Can we no longer give our opinion and thoughts about tragedies reported in the media or individuals that seek media attention?

As i said earlier, this poor woman probably had mental health issues, her son lived away from home and she was probably lonely. 12 tweets a day is not that excessive, perhaps regular posters here can count how many posts they do a day, sometimes on the same thread? Personally I find this whole McCann circus spurious and its about time the McCanns (well him anyway) stopped this self-promoting exacerbating clap trap.
Middle aged, middle class woman, pillar of society is accused of being an Internet Troll following allegations of unsavory on-line concerning the McCanns.
Incident brought to light through the media.
Accused can no longer face society, so commits suicide.
Seems straight forward to me.
Do I feel sorry for all involved........not really as i don't know any of them.

FYI just finishing my makeup on the sofa and just seen in an advert that this subject will be on This Morning ( 10:30Am Itv1) after Jeremey Kyle so if you have access to a tv then it's a must see though I'm not sure at what time during This Morning they'll be talking about it but they give you the shows timetable at the beginning. I'll record it and catch it later. :)
This shows another side to the story, and makes for interesting reading:

Naomi, you only have to have one obsession on a forum, say Jehovah Witnesses for instance, say something to annoy or upset that is so bad someone complains, It doesn't take much to turn from an 'avid contributor' to become a 'lunatic poster' posting up to 12 times a day, day in and day out, at the drop of a journalists hat. Not too difficult to understand.
I'm replying to your post of 10.21 and subsequent post of 12.51 with regard to describing someone who tweets up to 12 times a day as excessive., when in fact, you post more on average, than this on AnswerBank. I am pointing out that it does not take much to change a poster with strong views on something, into a 'lunatic' obsessive at the drop of a hat.
