We have two by-elections tomorrow, a relatively rare occurrence. UKIP look to be on course to win Clacton with the Tory traitor Carswell, and Labour would seem to be in the lead for the Heywood and Middleton. The Rochester and Strood one is not scheduled until early next month, and its unclear at this stage who is in the lead.

Does anybody else have any predictions ?

I predict UKIP for Clacton and probably Heywood too. Rochester? Still open I think.

Janbee...very interesting about Heywood. The Labour party is defending a majority of nearly 6000 but UKIP only managed 1215 votes in 2010....even the truly awful BNP got 3239 !
Opinions have changed a lot though in 4 years and I think that UKIP are a real threat in Heywood. We'll find out soon .

Interesting Gromit...my thoughts pretty much. Bad day for dave tomorrow then it would seem. If any any chance UKIP gets both, then I can see another few Tory traitors crawling out from under floorboards. Its going to be an interesting few months, the most lively that I can remember for a long time !
Labour look on course for a comfortable win at Heywood and UKIP should beat the Conservatives into 3rd.
