just bought mine!
When is this display being dismantled? I'm going to London on the 6th of November for a few days and would love to see this and buy a poppy if possible.
Maggie, I think it's there until the 11th Nov and then it's being dismantled and the poppies will then be posted out
after Nov 11, maggiebee so it should still be there (but presumably you won't be ablt to take one away, you'll have to wait for the day). Someone posted a link on the previous page where you can order one.
Tora what is your poppy number? Mine is 654345 and there are 888246 in total so they're selling really well..
do you get a voucher or anything when you order? I have a birthday coming up next week (not mine but I am buying a present). I would like to give one, but I'd need something to actually give.
No jno, you're just given a number on screen, which I suppose you could print off as proof.
thanks janbee. I can't really see myself giving a screengrab as a gift! They may have missed a trick there.
They cost £25 + £5.95 p & per poppy. Its a lovely gift to give and not long to wait until it arrives.
jno, you also get an email with all the details on it
Thanks for the info folks. Will definitely visit the Tower of London to see the poppies in place and have also ordered two for my grandsons.
You'll be overwhelmed Maggie. They look superb on tv but to actually see them for real is just mind blowing. It's also incredibly moving so take some Kleenex with you.
Jan.....were you surprised by the quietness ....and the peacefulness?

It was when we were there......so different to the usual London noise and bustle...x
Yes gness, it was almost silent. It just seemed wrong to make a noise or talk.
Hundreds of people and all so nice to each other....moving aside for you when they saw your camera....smiling and nodding because they shared the reason you were shedding a tear......just beautiful..x
I know one of the Yeoman Warders from a past life he said that the numbers of adults he'd seen in tears since it started is incredible even he cant believe how emotional the Warders themselves get as the days go by and the sheer number of poppies increases.
It's a stunning thought provoking memorial to our fallen and yes it does make you shed a tear. G's right and I think it is the silence that makes the difference, silent thought or prayers.

If you haven't bought one I'd encourage you to do so, it will help so many of our ex servicemen.

oh yeah, nos 308, 327384 and 401007 (last two are for my outlaws who both served in the military, my parents never did)
#308 ? Wow Slappy, quick draw McGraw. You were quick off the mark. I wonder who has #1 ?
It was my wife JB, she bought one for me the morning they went on sale
Are you serious? If so, well done to Mrs S.
BTW, I like your new avatar. Is that how you dress at weekends?
That's my going out for Halloween dress... ;-)
